I've never signed up to GYWO before! I decided to try a Habit Pledge. I chose The Excursionist level, which is writing for 180 days over the year (approx 15 days/month). This feels ambitious but not impossible to me, and I think working towards building a habit of regular writing will be more fruitful for me than monitoring my wordcounts.

I'm also going to try doing Fannish 50 again! "Make fifty posts about topics related to fandom. You may set any theme(s) you wish, or pick random topics for each post." The info & sign-up post for 2026 is here.

rarefemslashexchange! Very happy with my assignment, currently enjoying canon review. :D

I'm thinking of signing up for

candyheartsex, too! Is anyone else planning to do this one? Only 300 word minimum! I try not to have too many simultaneous open exchange assignments for myself, but this feels within reach. :D

Buuuuut also

seasonsofdrabbles will be running a round in January-February. I love drabbles, so this is tempting too! But three assignments (even ones with short minimums!) seems like it would be overwhelming, so I might stick to treating for this one.

Yuletide reveals! I wrote a Galaxy Quest fic! I'm kind of blown away at the lovely reception my fic got this year - more than I ever expected in terms of comments and kudos, and several very kind recs. I love writing for tiny fandoms-of-one-or-two, but writing for a widely beloved movie for this year was surprisingly fun.

Watching Heated Rivalry, and having a complete blast! I enjoy escaping into m/m hockey romance books on occasion, so hearing that one was being adapted made me excited for the show - and it's been SO great so far!

Holding off on watching Stranger Things Season 5 until I have time to watch properly. I'll probably be diving in this weekend.

Feeling a bit wiped out at work, and so ready for the stretch of time off I've got over the holidays (soon, SOON).

Some nights, she's busy trying to claw her way out from under an avalanche of paperwork. Some nights, she just can't keep her eyes closed. She can put on a sleep mask or bury her face in the pillows, but she's still aware of the light glowing out there, and the absence of anyone warm in the bed next to her.

(Or: six months later, a reunion.)

Post-canon reunion (or is it?). I loved the lyrical rhythm of the writing, and beautifully vivid descriptions of the landscape. Liz's sharp, cynical narrative voice is excellent, and I loved the thoughtfulness and depth of the characterization and the focus on their spiky, intense relationship. (And hot! It's very sexy, too.)
