Newsom Brutally Flips Trump’s Insult on Him: ‘Quiet, Piggy’

Gavin Newsom mocked Donald Trump for saying “Quiet piggy” to a female reporter asking him about the Jeffrey Epstein files.

The California governor’s press office took to X on Tuesday to share a couple of images poking fun at the president’s weight and reappropriating the line in the caption.

After Trump “border czar” Tom Homan threatened to arrest Newsom and Bass if they interfere with immigration agents on the ground, Newsom had a pointed reaction: “Tom, arrest me.”

“He knows where to find me,” Newsom said in an interview tonight, telling Homan to leave alone the “poor people just trying to live their lives.”

With the state budget hanging precariously in the balance, Gov. Gavin Newsom filed a lawsuit today to block President Donald Trump’s tariff powers.

The lawsuit, which Newsom and Attorney General Rob Bonta filed in federal court in San Francisco, argues that Trump does not have the constitutional authority to unilaterally enact tariffs. Trump cited the United States’ large trade deficit to declare a national emergency earlier this month and impose sweeping import taxes on the rest of the world.

The entire internet is talking about Trump calling a reporter “piggy” for asking a question about the release of the Epstein files on Friday.

To quote the president of the United States exactly, Trump said, “Quiet. Quiet, Piggy.”

In an exclusive interview with NBC News’ Jacob Soboroff, California Governor Gavin Newsom said that President Trump “has created the conditions” surrounding the Los Angeles protests. The governor went on to call Trump’s decision to deploy the National Guard “a manufactured crisis,” then addressed White House border czar Tom Homan’s threats of arrest. “Tom, arrest me. Let’s go,” Newsom said. The governor also plans to sue the Trump administration over its deployment of the National Guard.

But instead, we have to talk about a president who is literally running away from disaster victims and from the governor who came across the country to fight for them. This is supposed to be the season of goodwill, of helping your neighbor, of opening your door and your heart. Donald Trump took one look at that idea, slammed the door, turned off the porch light, and pretended he wasn’t home.

So picture this: while a lot of people are worrying about Christmas gifts and holiday travel, the governor of California gets on a plane. Gavin Newsom doesn’t fly to Washington, D.C. for a Christmas party, or for a ribbon-cutting ceremony, or to show off a new suit. He flies there because people in his state have lost everything to devastating wildfires. Homes burned to ash, neighborhoods turned to smoke, families left with nothing but the clothes they escaped in. The federal government promised help. And someone has to go knock on the door of the White House and say, “Hey, remember those people? Remember that promise?”

LOS ANGELES — A federal judge in California on Tuesday ruled that the Trump administration violated a 19th-century law when it mobilized 4,000 National Guard troops and 700 Marines to Los Angeles in June.

“The evidence at trial established that Defendants systematically used armed soldiers (whose identity was often obscured by protective armor) and military vehicles to set up protective perimeters and traffic blockades, engage in crowd control, and otherwise demonstrate a military presence in and around Los Angeles,” U.S. District Judge Charles Breyer in San Francisco said in a 52-page filing.
