I am a career graphics professional, learned the craft when they would say "Desktop WHAT?" Currently working out of My small home studio - Art Direction, Graphics, Design, Illustration, Web. Literally whatever. Not rich, but managing to have some fun! I freelanced the first third of my career... then went Corporate for a while as an Art Director. That came to an end, post 9/11.. where I was ...excused from Corporate Service, along with over 35,000 other "Business Service Professionals". Since them have been running my small studio from my home.. frelancing again, slowly scrabbling my way back to a proper living...

I am a martial artist, with rank and an affinity for Jujutsu, Yang Short Form T'ai Chi Ch'uan and Shotokan Karate, in more or less that order. And have a more than passing interest in Aikido, Iaido, Kenjutsu, and other classical Bujutsu and Budo. Lately, I managed to hook up with a local dojo here in Rockland Co., Shaolin Kempo Karate. Kata and TC form on the lawn got boring after a while. Not a life obsession, but I also don't tend to live in fear either. Can pretty much travel where I like. [Update: have joined a local Kenpo based school with the sons... having great fun! Big sweat! ]

What else? Okay.. not a member of a mainstream religion. No, I'm not Jewish.. no. not Muslim either. I am a officially a Pagan, practicing a Lakota based Medicine tradition, even though most Native Americans do not consider themselves "Pagan" as whilte people define the term. Never the less, it has given me a certain measure of wi cho sa'ne wi oki or "health and happiness" from my exposure to Lodge and the Pipe. Don't forget a fair helping of Zen and Tao mixed in. My friends tend to be all over the spiritual map, as it should be.

I also drum and sing. Totally love it and helps me talk to creator in a powerful joyus way. Spend a fair amount of time wth Four Winds Earth Chorus. Fine folk, and as of this writing, over eleven years of song, chant, drum and dance. Hoka hey! That chapter did indeed wind down as of July 2005, but what a heck of a ride! 1994-2005 Longer than most rock groups and Marriges! Woot! We did record a percussion positive version of The Little Drummer Boy in 2006

Where did the handle come from? Considering all of the above... Someone I worked with once called Me a "Samurai Art Director". A zen warrior with an e-xacto knife in one hand and a mouse in the other.
