GeneralDo I need to be familiar with Infinite Ryvius to play?Nope! If you're not familiar with Infinite Ryvius, that's perfectly okay. Just take a moment to review
the story and
terms and phrases before you begin your application to familiarize you with the setting. If you have any questions or concerns that were not addressed in the FAQ, story, or terms and phrases sections, please feel free to
contact the moderators and they will get back to you as soon as possible.
What kind of characters are appable?Canon CharactersCharacters from an established canon, be it anime, manga, video games, television show, movie, webcomic, etc. Characters who are not from the Infinite Ryvius canon must have their backgrounds changed accordingly to fit in with the setting. This includes depowering any characters with supernatural abilities. Please note that all characters must be eighteen or younger. Feel free to de-age any feature character who may otherwise be too old to attend classes on the Liebe Delta.
Original CharactersOriginal characters designed with this game in-mind.
How many characters can I app? There is an application cap of four characters.
Will this game closely mirror the events of the Infinite Ryvius series? While some events may draw inspiration from the anime, our hope is that our players will take the premise in new and interesting directions.
What should I do if I have an idea for a plot?Contact one of the moderators with your idea, particularly if your plot idea affects the entire game. The mods will give their stamp of approval or ask for revisions and the plot will then be posted on the game calendar. If you are interested in running the plot yourself, let the moderators know. We encourage players to take initiative and run their own game-wide plots.
How do I get help adapting my canon character's background to this continuity?Feel free to
contact the moderators for assistance adapting your character's backgrounds. The mods are familiar with the Infinite Ryvius canon and are happy to bounce back ideas if you're stuck or need a little more information to find your way.
How do I get an invite to the game?Normally, players are invited by established players in the game. However, we understand that not all hopeful players may know someone who's already playing. If this is the case, please feel free to
contact the moderators. If we think you'll be a good fit for the game (and we probably will!), we'll be happy to extend an invitation to you to play.
Injuries and DeathCan my character come back from death?Nope. Once your character is dead, they're dead. They are no more. They have ceased to be.
What happens if they lose a limb?If your character loses a limb, they can request treatment from one of the student medical teams. While there are currently mechanical prosthetic replacements available, the student medical teams are simply that --
students, and may refuse to, or be unable to, equip the injured with a replacement limb.
What happens if they sustain organ damage? If your character sustains organ damage, they can request treatment from one of the student medical teams. Student medical teams can refuse or be unable to treat the injured. If the organ damage is particularly severe, replacements are not readily available. This may change as students are fatally wounded.
Is the recovery from breaks/cuts/ burns the same as IRL, or different? The recovery time is comparable. While medical advancements have created gels and ointments that speed up the healing process for any open wounds or burns, it still takes time for the body to heal itself. Those with broken bones fare worse; technology has not advanced to the point where broken bones can be easily mended. Expect recovery time to be the same as it would be on current-day Earth.
Can my character have healing powers they can use on others? No. This continuity is fairly well-rooted in reality, so any supernatural healing abilities are prohibited.
Can my character have innate healing powers to speed their own recovery? No. This continuity is fairly well-rooted in reality, so any supernatural healing abilities are prohibited.
Can my character be cloned, or parts of them be cloned for medical purposes?Yes, if there is a student capable of doing so and resources readily available. Please note that any cloned cells are growing at the same rate they would on present-day Earth; there is no way to expedite the process.
Essential suppliesWhat food is available? There's little that isn't available aboard the Liebe Delta, as stewards are encouraged to familiarize themselves with a wide range of ingredients. However, food can only be issued by stewards, who are under strict instructions to follow a pre-planned regime for the students based on each individual's personal dietary needs.
Food, however, is often smuggled aboard the by students, and it's not uncommon for food to be sent along in care packages. While not technically allowed, most instructors will turn a blind eye to these treats.
Food selections will be less diverse aboard the Ryvius -- unless students elect to transport food during the evacuation to the Ryvius. How the stewards choose to deal with thieves or midnight snackers will be determined by those characters themselves.
Are there seeds and supplies to grow more?Yes. There are students who are studying space horticulture and do have the equipment on-hand to nurture and harvest plant life in space.
Is there a kitchen? There is a kitchen; however, it is currently only able to be used by steward traineees and their instructors. Those looking to sneak a midnight snack can certainly make the attempt; however, if they're caught, there will be consequences.
This may change once the students board the Ryvius.
What drink is available?Water, milk, soda, juice -- there's little that isn't readily available aboard the Liebe Delta. However, non-water beverages can only be issued by stewards, who are under strict instructions to follow a pre-planned regime for the students based on each individual's personal dietary needs.
Drink selections will be less diverse aboard the Ryvius -- unless students elect to transport food during the evacuation to the Ryvius.
Is there alcohol?Alcohol is available only in the instructors' personal quarters aboard the Liebe Delta -- well away from any inspiring teen drinkers. It is possible that some alcohol may have been smuggled aboard the station by particularly devious students who managed to avoid detection during the random bag check upon boarding the station for the first time.
What clothes are they wearing?Certain students, particularly those that need to wear uniforms to identify themselves, like the Zwei and the stewards do routinely wear uniforms during training hours. Medical students are only required to wear medical garb while actively treating others. In off-hours, students are allowed to wear whatever they like, within reason.
Of course, this may change once the students board the Ryvius and there are no instructors to enforce dress codes.
Can they bring their own clothes?Yes, of course. Students are encouraged to wear their own clothing during off-hours. Many students outside of the Zwei and the stewards are allowed to wear their choice of clothing during training hours as well.
Are there restrictions on hairstyles/tattoos/body mods?Nope! Feel free to go wild.
Living arrangementsDo they have their own rooms, or do they share?Aboard the Liebe Delta, each student has their own room. This will change once they board the Ryvius, as space is limited aboard the ship.
Are these segregated by rank or sex or age?Aboard the Liebe Delta, students in a particular area of study generally live in adjacent rooms. There is no particular method to these assignments. A boy could easily share a wall with a girl; a newbie could be living next door to the top-ranked member of their class. This, of course, will change once they board the Ryvius.
If by sex, where would my character go if they are non-binary?The characters themselves will determine how room assignments work once they board the Ryvius. Once the students come to a consensus -- or someone seizes the reigns and makes a decision -- this answer will be updated.
How will this be assigned when I join the game?Currently, there are no room assignments. How rooms are assigned aboard the Ryvius will be determined by the characters once they board the ship.
Do I need mod permission for my character to move rooms? No, you do not. Just let the mods know you've moved rooms on the room assignment page. (Link forthcoming!)
What washing facilities are available?Group showers and toilets are readily available down every hall. The bathrooms are segregated, with individual bathrooms for women, men, and the non-binary. Both showers and toilets are individually stalled.
During non-peak meal hours, steward students generally care for the laundry. Students are expected to bring their clothing in a laundry bag with their name on it to the laundromat to be laundered by the stewards. Generally speaking, the stewards are more lenient with students laundering their own clothes than they are with the food. Instructors are, too.
Love and sexCan we write sex scenes in comm? No. If things are getting racy, fade-to-black.
Can we play out rape or other non-con?Though there was an implied rape in canon, we do not allow rape or non-con in this game.
Are there age restrictions on what we can play? Can my character get pregnant/inpregnate others? No. Practice safe sex, children. Condoms are plentiful in space.
Can our characters move in together?Aboard the Liebe Delta, no. However, whether or not your characters can move in together on the Ryvius depends entirely upon the ground rules established by the characters after evacuation.
What can I do if other people’s storylines make me uncomfortable? Please
contact a moderator immediately if someone or something in-game is making you uncomfortable.
EnvironmentWhat is life like for a student aboard the Liebe Delta? While there are traditional classes aboard the space station, the brunt of the Liebe Delta's students are engaged with on-hands learning. Stewards prepare meal plans and foods for their fellow students based on their nutritional needs; medical students learn to care for injured or sick students under the guidance of an instructor; pilots undergo rigorous training simulations using the same equipment they would use if they were piloting for real.
How large is the ship? The Liebe Delta is enormous; it's large enough for 1000 students and the instructors to have their own individual rooms. It houses several massive training facilities, an expansive cafeteria and the Vaia ship, Ryvius. In short, the Liebe Delta is the size of a town. Prepare to do a lot of walking to get from one side of the station to the other.
The Ryvius, on the other hand, while large for a spacecraft, is much smaller. There are not enough rooms for each of the 500 students to have their own room. Where the Liebe Delta is the size of a town, the Ryvius would be the size of a college campus.
Is there gravity?Yes, there is gravity in most of the Liebe Delta and the Ryvius. Freight areas of both crafts, however, are gravity-free to allow for easy movement of particularly weighty items.
What sections/departments are there on the ship? Are there any places where my character can’t go?Aboard the Liebe Delta, the instructors' quarters and the kitchen is strictly off-limits unless otherwise authorized. Where your character can and can not be will likely change once they board the Ryvius.
Can they go on spacewalks?Yes. The Liebe Delta has equipment for spacewalks available. Typically, though, this is used for maintenance of the space station under the supervision of instructors. Recreational space walks are unlikely to happen, except as a special treat.
The Ryvius has the ability to emanate an invisible protective barrier that extends slightly beyond the ship. While there is no gravity in this barrier, characters can venture outside of the Ryvius without typical equipment. However, if they are pulled beyond the scope of the barrier, or if the barrier malfunctions, they will be killed.
Whether or not space walks outside the Ryvius are regulated as they were aboard the Liebe Delta is dependent entirely on the characters themselves.
Are there shuttles they can leave the ship on?No. The Ryvius has no escape pods or shuttles of any kind.
Can we build shuttles?Your character is certainly welcome to. However, they would be limited to using the resources aboard the ship. Please
contact a moderator for further information.
Are there any weapons on board? There are weapons on-board the Liebe Delta, though all weapons are in control of the instructors themselves and are either stored on their person or in their rooms.
Are there computers on board?Yes, each student has their own computer for personal and school use.
Are there AI?AI technology has not progressed to the point where an AI could pass as human. However, there has been -- and continues to be -- expansive research in the field of AI and some students aboard the Liebe Delta actually study it.
Can my character invent their own AI or robot? They certainly can attempt to, though they're limited by the resources available on the ship and their own knowledge.
Does the ship fly itself, or is it manually steered? The Liebe Delta remains in orbit around the Earth, and subsequently does not need typically need to be piloted, except to avoid space debris and during routine maintenance. Piloting is a complex task that requires several people concurrently writing "solids", or modular computer programs all at once. It's not as easy as turning a steering wheel, unfortunately.
The Ryvius, too, requires a number of people programming at once in order to maneuver the craft. It's no X-Wing, that's for sure.
Jobs and rankingWhat are the minimum and maximum ages for our characters at the start of the game? All characters must be under the age of 18, as all instructors will die off trying to save the Liebe Delta from the Geduld. While students are generally ages 14 - 18, it is possible to app the child of an instructor if you wish to play somebody younger.
What ranks are there available? While there are no official ranks or titles aboard the Liebe Delta, grades and rankings are posted for public consumption. Generally, those with better grades are considered to be higher up the totem pole than those with lower grades.
This, of course, may change when the students board the Ryvius.
What is the difference between a Zwei student and a normal student?A Zwei student is essentially an honors student practiced in piloting and consequently programming. As a result, they attend classes on the Liebe Delta under full academic scholarship. They are also the only pilots who get to work outside of simulations, albeit under instructor supervision. Most Zwei are respected -- or envied -- by the Liebe Delta's students.
Students in other areas of study, such as stewardship, medicine, or horticulture can also attend classes under academic scholarship. They just aren't awarded the Zwei designation.
What ranks/roles are already taken?None at the moment.
Can I challenge this OOCly or ICly?Yes, of course. But remember that In Character Actions have In Character Consequences; it's likely that someone won't be happy to have their power usurped.
Characters Can I app a character who was previously played here?Yes. Although not required, we recommend that you contact previous CR to discuss whether or not you would like to continue any previous CR in-game.
Can I app multiple copies of the same character? What about multiple versions of a character from different canon universes? No.
My character is not right age. Can I be an exception? That depends. If you're hoping to play a younger character, certainly. Older characters, however, won't work.
Can my character be non-human?As aliens have not yet been discovered, any non-human canon characters will have to be human. However, you're welcome to play any non-human Earth animals, provided that you're able to make AC.
Can my character be a robot?Yes, however, sophisticated AI technology has not yet been developed, so there may be some limitations as to what you can do.
Can my character be psychic or telepathic? Can my character use magic? No.
Can my character have artificial body parts?Yes. Prosthetics have come a long way, and it's not uncommon for someone missing a limb to have a functioning mechanical replacement.
Can my character have genetically-modified powers?Yes, within reason. Please
contact the moderators in advance of submitting your app so they can give their stamp of approval.
Can my character have a special weapon/object from their canon?Students are not allowed to bring weapons aboard the Liebe Delta, so special weapons are not allowed. If you are interested in bringing a special object from your character's original canon, please
contact the moderators before submitting your application.
Does my character have to be from a certain country, social group or ethnicity? If your character is a certain ethnicity, we ask they remain that ethnicity in this AU. However, your character is welcome to be from anywhere, be it one of Earth's numerous countries or Jupiter.
Can my character have a disability?Yes; there's nothing preventing a disabled character from attending school aboard the Liebe Delta.
Can my character have any other illness?Yes, within reason. Please
contact the moderators if you have any questions.
Someone is already playing from my canon, but I don’t agree with their AU for our series. What can I do?Activity Is there a minimum activity requirement? We require links to two threads total, be they network, prose, or action/bracket-spam. Please note that while there are no established length requirement, we do expect that Activity Check proofs are thoughtfully-written.
Is there a minimum requirement for the number of different characters I need to interact with to meet this activity?Yes, two different characters.
What will happen if I don’t meet this?Failure to provide sufficient activity will result in the character's removal from the game. You will then have the opportunity to re-app your character with a warning.
Warnings remain in effect for three months. If during these three months you fail to provide sufficient activity a second time, you will not be allowed to re-app your character again until another three months have passed.
Is there a maximum length of time I am allowed to go on hiatus for?Yes, one month.
What if I need to be away for longer? Please
contact the moderators to work something out.
If I’m removed from game, am I allowed to reapp the same character?Yes. However, if you fail to meet activity within three months of your removal, you will not be allowed to re-app the character until another three months have passed.
What should I do if I have concerns about another player’s activity? We always encourage players to go to other players with their issues first, be it via plurk or their HMD post. If you do not feel comfortable approaching another player or they are unreceptive to your concerns, please feel free to
contact the moderators.
