But in the meantime I have conquered all the HTML (I really, really hope) and I have survived the ongoing LJ stupidity (oh my gods, guys, have you *seen* the new posting page?) and I have accomplished much:

The hl_chronicles  (Short-form*) Master Post at DW or LJ.  And if you see something you like, send feedback? 

Oh!  Did anyone save down nrrrdygrrrl 's art?  She did timestamp art for one of hafital 's series and for one of unovis ' stories.  The problem is that Deviant Art and LJ Scrapbook between them have vanished the art.  Did anyone save it?  Please?  Bueller?

*Even in the short form... it's a few Word pages. But I am done, and I like the way it came out, and dinner is calling. Bath and collapse come later.

For reasons which will be explained within a week, I need to know how to have code appear in a box in a post.  You know, the box of 'Copy and paste this to put in your blog.'  Help?  Someone?  Thank you!!  And medie and killabeez  solved it for me -- thank you!!

First, congratulations to everyone who tried any of the Writing Month challenges and got anything written -- good for you!

Second, getting the seeds/arils out of a pomegranate reminds me of nothing so much as underwater pea-hulling. They're massively yummy, but still, I'm just saying....

Oh, and third -- man, I miss my coffee today!



Public Service Announcement. There is currently a phishing attack showing up in LJ trying to get your password from you by getting you to 'log back in' from a comment to an entry. Details here. (If you're crossposting from DW and have to change your LJ password, you'll need to update it in your account information before you can crosspost again.  Not that I'm speaking from ::coughs:: experience or anything here.)

I love having 200 icons, don't get me wrong? But sometimes, particularly when I'm doing fibro/caffeine* scatterbrain, it is a PITA to keep 200+ icons synchronized between LJ and DW.

That said? Wow, I've got some lovely new icons up. If you're curious go here and scroll down to the bottom. The new stuff includes the one on this entry, which is courtesy of wild_plums; the other new icons start down at the bottom at keyword: werewolf. The new-ish stuff starts a little farther up, say at ghost writer.

* I've found out, to my dismay, that if I cut out my daily coffee, I greatly reduce both my chance of spiking fevers in the evening and this unnaturally scatterbrained state. (That last has been driving me spare for two years; normally, I am not easily distracted.) 

I'm not physically addicted to coffee, but man, I like having a mug of something to pick up and cradle when I stop to think about what comes next in a project.  Come fall/cooler weather, I'm really hoping that hot tea doesn't give me the same trouble. I like white tea, and I like green tea mixed with other things, but I'm not a fan of plain green tea. I do like a bunch of the herbal teas, so I have some low-cal options, but... gah!  I liked my coffee!  And cappuccinos were a great way to up my milk-intake for the day.  And I have most of a tin of lovely Russian caravan tea, and lemon drop black tea that ciceqi sent me, and, and.... Blast it.  Inconvenient body. ::hmmphs::

Yes, I'd love to see commentary on the writing meme, but no, it's not one where I'll quit if I don't get replies.  You're all certainly welcome to ask questions, pick on me about 'how much fic?' 'sure you're never writing that again,' etc.  Mostly, however, I'm trying to get back in the habit of posting more often.  But I'll keep cut-tagging most of it so it doesn't eat up friends' pages/circle pages. 

Since you guys last saw me here, I've had tarshaan in town for a nice long visit during which a 3 day cold turned into a stupid 12 days (and counting)  cough that's slowly letting up.  (3 fracking muscles I pulled with this cough.  I'm just saying?  OUCH.)  I'm watching some of the local politics on our school system and hoping the vote goes the way I want.  My odds are looking decent.  I'm starting to figure out what I can do on some projects here.  Dragon has shifted his work environment and says the guys there are nice, which is good.  And I'm sitting here with henna in my hair trying to hold out another 45 minutes before I shower.

I'm sorry I missed all you guys at Escapade, but I would have brought con crud with me, and tarsh was in town, so oh well.  Another year.  {{hugs}} and I'll try to post more often now.  ::amused:: I just don't promise it won't be day in the life stuff.  Now, if I can just remember how this 'writing' thing works....

Considering that I never did keep a diary as a kid, I would never have expected that eight years and 1,552 entries later (yes, counting this one), I'd still be active on LiveJournal.  I'm crossposting from and to Dreamwidth, but still.  Eight years.  And, oddly enough, I don't remember who first told me about LJ to get me into this whole social media thing.  I think it was Sleeps With Coyotes, but it might have been Raine.

Nope.  No great thoughts or content, not even a GIP.  I'm just suprised and content.  (Not least that I actually remembered it this year...) Night, all.

Thanks to the kindness of lferion, I'm over on Dreamwidth as Rhi. As of yet, there are no entries there (my LJ is still importing) and I'm waiting for all betas back on the new fic, to start the new journal out properly with a story posting. I will be crossposting to both journals, and reading my friends list at both places until I know where people are going to be. I suspect it'll be interesting, anyway.

Apparently I've been on LiveJournal seven years? Well, plus a week or two; I missed the precise date, which was July 27. That's a surprise: I never even kept a diary before this but I've got seven years worth of entries (1400 plus? Wow), comments, and memories here. Of course, I joined just as summer got hot -- I think ciceqi pointed me here? Maybe? -- so I might simply have been hiding from the weather.

Regardless, hey, cool, seven years! ::waves hi, vanishes back into the air conditioning::
