I've been on a bit of nostalgia wave so I want people to check out neocities.org and nekoweb.org. I've enjoyed messing around with HTML and CSS again. I'm still trying to figure out how best to use them.

snowflake_challenge Challenge #3: Write a love letter to fandom. It might be to fandom in general, to a particular fandom, favourite character, anything at all.
For me, Stargate gets credited with a lot of good things in my life, from survival to my best friend. I was definitely sure I was bisexual after watching Stargate, and definitely sure I loved writing after writing Stargate fanfiction, and I pretty much only have good memories, even at the worst of times.
The godmother to my children, I met on LiveJournal because she read my fanfic and we connected. This was twenty years ago. We're still friends to this day. When I was in the hospital with haemolytic anaemia, she would come to visit me from her city (I was in the next city over) with her laptop so we could watch the new episodes of Atlantis together. We created an entire AU together.
During the worst of my depression, there was still Stargate. It wasn't perfect, but neither am I.
And I have a lot of tattoos some from fandom, a nug from Dragon Age, Reepicheep, Lion from Steven's universe, Psyduck, Snoopy, and the Earth address from Stargate down the back of my right calf.

I have four cats, legally, but it's more like 3 cats and half of two cats. Reb Brown - my old man cat, Stink my half blind and brain damaged cat and Kitten my murderpuss all live here full time. Reb is an indoor cat, with occasional escape attempts. Stink and Kitten are indoor/outdoor cats, mostly because they refuse to use a litter box. Well Kitten refuses, Stink doesn't really understand the concept. We also have Missy, who I see on occasion but she spends most of her time at the care home across the lane. And Buddy isn't out cat but spends most of his time here.
We also have three chickens, Jade, Fluffernutter and Jellylegs. We may get more in the spring. And we have 2 fish.

The Icebreaker Challenge: Introduce yourself. Tell us why you're doing the challenge, and what you hope to gain from it.
I'm Ren, I'm in my 40s and a parent, I'm non-binary, married to an American, we live in Wales. I was born in Coventry but have lived in Wales for most of my life (and my grandfather was Welsh).
I have two kids, age 9 and 5, both idetinfyings as girls atm. Flower is all about lego and Tabby is all about cats (and well, Tabby).
I'm not really into a fandom atm, not in the way I used to be when I was younger. I tend to write and bootle about in whatever show I'm binging at the time, though Stargate remains my fave. I do write orignal stuff as well. I want to write more this year, more of everything, I haven't been writing as much as I used to.
I loved doing the challenge before and wanted to do it again, plus I thought it would be a good way to connect and try to un-isolate myself. I tend to be pretty insular nowadays, both on and offline. Between the anxiety and the kids and my physical health (firbomyalgia), I haven't done much outside of go to work. I started archery last year and started writing again though.

1. Did you get an allowance as a kid, and if so, how much was it?
My dad gave me a fiver a week that he put into a bank account I had. First it was with Leeds, then the Abbey National. I saved it mostly until I was a teenager, and then I mostly used it to go out with my friend Lisa Taylor. In sixth form every Tuesday we went to see the new film at the Commodore and then played air hockey at the Peir until the last bus. We went regardless of what film was playing and we watched some doozies lol. My mum gave me £2.50 every week on Monday to suppliment my free school meals allowance.

As part of my attempt to get a certificate of higher education in art I'm doing an intro to digital drawing and painting. Except I know how to use procreate - the basics - I was hoping for more guidance on how to use/choose the right brushes but maybe that's in the next one.
