Introduction
recsrainbow (history) is sort of a noticeboard community for reccers, a place for them to advertise their recommendation site and post update notices, but the old fashion way. Instead of posting the notices themselves, reccers submit their notices to a moderator for tagging and posting.

Qualifications
recsrainbow accepts every type of recommendation site, of every genre and theme. The community mainly concentrates on fanfiction, but it does not limit its membership to that medium. However:
  1. Your recommendation site must not be newly created and empty of content. At least one recommendation post must have been made.
  2. Your recommendation site must be public. No locked journals or communities.
  3. If your recommendation journal is a mixture of personal posts and recommendation posts, your recommendation posts must be separate from your personal posts in some way, i.e. the existence of a 'rec' tag. Furthermore, if you would like recsrainbow to friend your recommendation journal, you must make sure that the ratio of personal posts to recommendation posts is not like 10:1.
  4. recsrainbow has accepted recommendation lists and recommendation del.icio.us accounts before. However, your list or del.icio.us must not be just a collection of links. It must contain some kind of summary and/or comments.
And that's it as far as requirements go. The moderator of recsrainbow does not judge for quality or quantity, as far as she understands her job description in any case.

Submissions
If you would like to submit your recommendation site to this community, you can do it in one of two ways:
  1. Email recsrainbow at recsrainbow@gmail.com with the following information:

    Subject: New Listing

    Site name:
    Site URL(s):
    Reccer(s):
    Intro: Describes your recommendation site. What genre, fandom, and/or pairing do you usually recommend? Is there anything else you would like the readers to know?
    Fandom List: Lists all the fandoms you have recommended.

    Sometimes though, GMail will punt e-mails to the spam folder even when they are correctly formatted. If you haven't heard back within a day or so, proceed to #2.

  2. Send recsrainbow a private message through LiveJournal with the above information.
Once the moderator of recsrainbow receives your submission, she will:
  1. Tag & post your notice. (See this post for more info on tags.)
  2. Add your recommendation site to the listing of member recommendation sites on the sidebar of this journal.
  3. Add your recommendation site to the listing of member recommendation sites at del.icio.us. (See this post for more info on recsrainbow's del.icio.us.)
  4. If your recommendation site is on LiveJournal, add your journal/community to recsrainbow's friendlist. If your recommendation site is not on LiveJournal, but possesses a RSS feed, add its syndicated feed to recsrainbow's friendlist (creating the syndicated account as needed). (See this post for more info on recsrainbow's friendlist.)
  5. Send a welcome e-mail message.

Updates
Whenever you have updated your recommendation site and would like to notify recsrainbow's readers of the update, you can do it one of two ways:
  1. Email recsrainbow at recsrainbow@gmail.com with the following information:

    Subject: Rec Site Update

    Site name:
    Site URL(s):
    Reccer(s): Optional.
    Updates: Describes what you have updated, the quantity of and in which fandom or theme, and if you have added any new fandoms.

    Sometimes though, GMail will punt e-mails to the spam folder even when it's correctly formatted. If you don't see your updates posted on recsrainbow within a day or so, proceed to #2.

  2. Send recsrainbow a private message through LiveJournal with the above information.
Once the moderator of recsrainbow receives your submission, she will:
  1. Tag & post your notice. (See Tags list section for more info on tags.)
Please let recsrainbow know if you delete your recommendation site or if the particulars of your site change in some way, e.g. a new URL, a new name, or an updated fandom list. Send either an Update Info email or a Site Deletion email with the following format:
Subject: Update Info or Site Deletion (pick one)
