I rarely post a public entry, but just write a comment below and tell me who you are and why you'd like to be at friend and I'll usually add you. Then you will be able to read my posts!

This is dated so it will always be on top, but my current posts are below.I'm sad to have to go to "FRIENDS ONLY" but experience with trolls and mean-spirited people makes it necessary. They spoil everything!

For those who don't have an account here, you will no longer be able to see my personal or private entries. It doesn't take very long to get an account and you never have to use it if you don't want to, but I can be your friend then (I'd mark you as a friend and then you can read the entries!). If you are a LJ or DW member already, just mark me as a friend after you comment here. I do delete requests a bit after I've seen them and responded, for space sake.

My Best Friends Are Here

I've kept a journal since I learned how to write. I've always been a writer, and will always write until my brain fails me completely.

This Journal is my outlet for expression:

• The frustration and anger I feel about my changing life, mind and body (I have MCI; some doctors call it Early-Onset Alzheimer's or Pre-Alzheimer's Disease)

• The joys I find in simple and not-so-simple things

• The grief over losses, both big and small

I have friendships that were forged here (or on LJ) over many weeks, months, and in some cases, years. That is no small thing, and I treasure each relationship no matter how faceted. Some friendships found here will be retained for the rest of my life. I like DW. It is easy, comfortable. It's home.

As I get older, I realize that friendships are extremely precious and even harder to come by...simply a result of maturing. It's not so easy to meet people if one doesn't attend school or go out partying.

Journal-writing has always been a part of my mental health since childhood. As a therapist, I always encouraged others to journal as well. I will always journal. As long as DreamWidth is here, I'll be here as well. I hope you'll join me. Let's be friends...
