I rarely post a public entry, but just write a comment below and tell me who you are and why you'd like to be at friend and I'll usually add you. Then you will be able to read my posts!

This is dated so it will always be on top, but my current posts are below.I'm sad to have to go to "FRIENDS ONLY" but experience with trolls and mean-spirited people makes it necessary. They spoil everything!

For those who don't have an account here, you will no longer be able to see my personal or private entries. It doesn't take very long to get an account and you never have to use it if you don't want to, but I can be your friend then (I'd mark you as a friend and then you can read the entries!). If you are a LJ or DW member already, just mark me as a friend after you comment here. I do delete requests a bit after I've seen them and responded, for space sake.

I'm so sorry for the abrupt ending of this, but I think that not only is the prayer beautiful, but the photos are stunning. Enjoy, regardless of your beliefs...

"SOME CLOUDS & FLURRIES BUT STILL QUIET AGAIN...

We will see some clouds roll in late this evening but other than some flurries or a very light snow shower nothing to talk about. Lows will be in the mid to upper 20s so perhaps a bit warmer than the last couple of nights. A few lingering flurries and clouds early Saturday. It will become sunny on Saturday but don't let that sun fool you. It will be a little colder with highs struggling to hit 40."

I'll be glad when the temps warm up enough to melt the snow on the ramp, as the sun doesn't ever hit it. Bella and I both are chomping at the bit to get OUTTA here and go for a run! It's been 3 days... I've gotten spoiled and think three days is a long time! Remember when it was weeks, sometimes MONTHS, before I could leave the house? :)

SNOW!

I'm falling asleep as I type this, literally, but i wanted to share a photo or two from today's snowfall. There was very little accumulation on the ground but there was a lot of snow on "our" mountains nearby, with the view changing about every 10 minutes. It did snow very fine flakes for hours, so the snow accumulated in areas.

Be sure to click on them once or twice to get the full size, as that has a lot of detail, esp. on the mountainside. (photos on LJ, don't know how to upload to DW)

the birds finally found us! There have been NONE and today we've had goldfinches, titmice, chickadees, carolina wrens, cardinals, blue jays, and a few crows. Can't wait to see who comes later today!

It's Rainy...

very rainy today. Our first real rain in Blue Dogwood Cottage, and the view is just as beautiful as ever. I tried to capture the cotton wool clouds being scraped against the stubbly cheek of the mountain behind us, but by the time I got outside to take the photo, it was raining harder and the clouds had descended. I'll catch it another day (makes me happy to know that it will happen again and I'm here to see it).

Gotta run to the store. Isn't that great? I get to leave the house and go to the GROCERY STORE!!!!

simple pleasures once denied me...

You were born during a Third Quarter moon

This phase occurs in the middle of the moon's waning phases, after the full moon and before the new moon.

- what it says about you -

You like to make up your own mind. You may find it hard to relate to mainstream opinions on issues, and you definitely don't always like what's popular. You can work out solutions and give birth to big ideas when left to yourself, and other people will be impressed with your conclusions even if they're not sure how you arrived at them.

What phase was the moon at on your birthday? Find out at Spacefem.com

My Best Friends Are Here

I've kept a journal since I learned how to write. I've always been a writer, and will always write until my brain fails me completely.

This Journal is my outlet for expression:

• The frustration and anger I feel about my changing life, mind and body (I have MCI; some doctors call it Early-Onset Alzheimer's or Pre-Alzheimer's Disease)

• The joys I find in simple and not-so-simple things

• The grief over losses, both big and small

I have friendships that were forged here (or on LJ) over many weeks, months, and in some cases, years. That is no small thing, and I treasure each relationship no matter how faceted. Some friendships found here will be retained for the rest of my life. I like DW. It is easy, comfortable. It's home.

As I get older, I realize that friendships are extremely precious and even harder to come by...simply a result of maturing. It's not so easy to meet people if one doesn't attend school or go out partying.

Journal-writing has always been a part of my mental health since childhood. As a therapist, I always encouraged others to journal as well. I will always journal. As long as DreamWidth is here, I'll be here as well. I hope you'll join me. Let's be friends...
