Mary cannot resist the temptation to lift anything from a teaspoon to a tiara, while Jack runs to hats, umbrellas and golf sticks. Mary's Ma's gold vanity case is stolen. Jack thinks Mary stole it; Mary thinks Jack stole it. Each wishing to shield the other, buys a duplicate, and each tries to return the vanity case, confessing theft, when a detective arrives with the original vanity case recovered from the real thief.
