Liraglutide increases miR-26a-5p to reduce PTEN thus increasing the levels of PIP3 to stimulate the PI3K-activated signaling cascades. In addition, liraglutide reduces miR-181a-5p and miR-34a-5p to increase the expression of Creb and Bcl-2, thus inhibiting the cell apoptosis.
