Incredibly poorly written. The author rips the historical element from the reader immediately by making the angels "real." I was excited for the book because of the prospect of a person being in contact with an angel. That plot line leaves a million paths open, cosmic horror being one of them, but making God and the angels real before the story takes away any anticipation and honestly for me any reason to keep reading. The plague being a response from the angels against God is only interesting if it's at the end of the story. Also "brain him," is one of the worst descriptions of killing an animal I have ever read.

Loved how the story was told. Vivid, haunting, and euphoric moments and well-paced throughout. An amazing, fulfilling, worthwhile ending.
