  • Most AI conversations in education focus on tools. This episode focused on something more important: 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗼 𝘄𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸? In the latest 𝗦𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗣𝗼𝗱𝗰𝗮𝘀𝘁, Nick Potkalitsky, PhD discusses with Andy Lucchesi why AI literacy isn't just about knowing how to use AI, 𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘁, 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗶𝘁, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝗯𝗲𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝘁. One idea that stood out: 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀𝗻'𝘁 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗔𝗜 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀. 𝗜𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀. The challenge for educators is helping students develop the judgment, critical thinking, and agency to navigate that shift. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗔𝗜 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗰𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴. Because the real question isn't whether students will use AI. It's whether they'll learn to think with it, or simply depend on it. A valuable conversation for educators, school leaders, and anyone shaping the future of learning. As a classroom practitioner, I feel we’ve moved beyond the initial AI hype and into the reality of operational integration. Tools like NotebookLM have genuinely helped make lesson planning more efficient, and AI has become a valuable critical thinking partner in my teaching practice. But areas like marking and feedback still require significant human oversight. Even when using tools like my Writing Essay Feedback Genie, pedagogical judgement remains non-negotiable. What AI has really changed for me is not simply speed, but the way I approach design, reflection, and verification. Whether creating graphic novels or learning materials, I constantly apply the ARSBCD framework: Accuracy, Relevance, Suitability, Bias, Copyright, and Data Privacy. I think about the constraints and conditions we learnt on the course and this reflection really feels empowering. One of my biggest concerns remains students and teachers overreliance. AI should support learning/teaching, not bypass it. The NILE - Norwich Institute for Language Education and @TheAIBoard.org's Level 3 AI for Teaching Professionals course along with Skilling Future have been instrumental in helping me develop a more critical, informed, and intentional approach to AI integration where pedagogy comes first and technology serves the learning process, not the other way around. #AIinEducation #EdTech #ELT #TeacherDevelopment #DigitalLearning #Assessment #InstructionalDesign

𝗔𝗜 𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 completely. The bigger question is: 𝗜𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 *𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸*? In the latest Skilling Future Podcast, Robert Martínez Martinez shares with Andy Lucchesi what he’s seeing firsthand in classrooms as AI becomes part of everyday learning. Students can now generate answers instantly. Write essays faster. Complete tasks with less effort. 𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗮 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀: How do we make sure learning is still happening? This conversation goes beyond AI tools and focuses on something deeper: • Critical thinking • Ethical AI use • AI literacy • Student responsibility • And why assessment can’t stay the same One point that stood out strongly: 𝘼𝙄 𝙘𝙖𝙣 𝙨𝙪𝙥𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜. 𝘽𝙪𝙩 𝙩𝙚𝙖𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙞𝙣𝙨𝙥𝙞𝙧𝙚 𝙞𝙩. A very real and necessary conversation for educators navigating AI in schools right now. • Most schools are still asking: “How do we use AI?” This episode asks a better question: 👉 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗻 𝗔𝗜-𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱? In the latest Skilling Future Podcast, Alisia Habibi — software engineer and co-founder of Nasli Tech School — shares with Andy Lucchesi why the future of education is no longer just about STEM, grades, or memorization. It’s about: • Critical thinking • Communication • Creativity • Adaptability • And the ability to solve real problems One point that stood out: 𝗔𝗜 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗯𝗲 𝗮𝗻 *𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗼𝗹*, 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗮 𝗱𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝘁𝗼𝗼𝗹. That shift changes everything. • AI in education often promises inclusion. But most classrooms still follow the same path for every student. This episode changes that. In the latest 𝗦𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗣𝗼𝗱𝗰𝗮𝘀𝘁, David Curran 🟠shares with Andy Lucchesi how AI is being used in a dyslexic school, and why it’s making a real difference. Especially for learners who have traditionally struggled. Instead of forcing every student down the same path, 𝗔𝗜 𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘀, 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗲, 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗲. That’s the shift. Not better tools. Better access. And it didn’t start with a perfect strategy. 𝗜𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀, 𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 *𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵* 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀, 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗮𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺. Because whether schools are ready or not, students are already using AI. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀: Are we designing for inclusion… or reinforcing the same barriers? • Most conversations about AI in education are still surface-level. This episode isn’t. In the latest 𝗦𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗣𝗼𝗱𝗰𝗮𝘀𝘁, Joanne McGovern discusses with Andy Lucchesi Luchessi what’s actually happening inside schools right now, and why many institutions are focusing on the wrong things. 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘄𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗵 𝗔𝗜 𝘁𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝘁𝗼 𝘂𝘀𝗲. It’s about what AI is quietly changing underneath: – How students approach learning – How teachers design assessments – How trust is built (or lost) in the classroom One important insight from the episode that: 𝗪𝗲’𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝘀𝘄𝗲𝗿𝘀. 𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝗔𝗜 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗺𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝘀𝘄𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘆. The real shift is happening elsewhere,  in process, thinking, and decision-making. The conversation also surfaces something many schools aren’t addressing enough: Access is uneven. Confidence is uneven. 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀, 𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝘁𝗼𝗼. That has long-term consequences. If you’re working in education, this episode will likely reflect what you’re already seeing, but maybe haven’t fully articulated yet. 🎧 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻 𝗶𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂’𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗔𝗜, 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗶𝘁.
