That building hasn't aged very well... There'll be another library (newer and bigger) in the city but I haven't built it yet.

Tenielle and Nimi wanted to see how all of this looks like from the neighbourhood view so here's a picture for you:

Yep, it's not only empty but it's ugly and boring too :P On the other hand I've never had a 'hood that would load so fast so in that way emptiness is a great thing!

I hope you don't mind if I ask a question, but which template are you using for the city and what size lots are you building?

And I just must say you really have an eye for taking pictures. It looks like you where walking around the city, snapping your camera.

I love questions so I definitely don't mind :D I'm using Twikkii Island Expanded map, you can find it here. About lot sizes, I can't remember... I'll have to check it when I open my game next time. I'm using small lots only though, bigger ones lag on my computer too much.

I checked lot sizes and I think the biggest lot I've used is 2 x 3, others are smaller.

It looks amazing, Penny. Even though the 'hood is fairly empty, the angle with which you take the pics makes the 'hood appear full & complete.
I have found a wonderful neighborhood map, and found some awesome objects, but I'm still reluctant to start a new 'hood.
I'll probably decide I really want to do it right when uni starts and I have no time again!

I'm glad if it appears complete because when I'm in game, it's painfully obvious how empty the 'hood still is. The angles I can use for picture taking are quite limited.

I would seriously love to see an urban neighbourhood from you so I hope you'll start building it at some point :) I know what you mean by not wanting to start a new big project though, I'm exactly the same. New neighbourhoods require so much work that you can't start them just like that.

Eeeep this looks so awesome! Everything looks so realistic and organized! I love the urban and "distressed" style, but will there be more "chic-looking" lots - or just newer-looking ones? I'm curious.
Also, the restaurant looks amazing. I'm building a diner too, at the moment. :)

Yes, there definitely will be different kind of areas - better areas, worse areas, luxurious apartments and shopping streets for rich Sims... but because it'll take some time for Sims to get even somewhat wealthy, I'm building these "distressed" areas first. But seeing the development of "bad" and "good" areas is definitely something I'm looking forward (GTA IV is once again a huge inspiration here because its islands are all very different).

I hope you'll share pictures of your diner! :)

I was going to say that I loved how there's something in every corner in your pictures, it looks very complete (echoing Tenielle :D) and then I saw the NH picture and am even more awed by your skills to make it look like an entire city, even though you only have two streets! :D

That library, I love it very much. this picture is just perfect, the colours are so pretty and especially together! And those windows and that wall are so cute.

Thanks so much for that link! I didn't know that kind of buildings are called brownstones so I wouldn't have been able to find pictures of them. Those pictures are such an inspiration :)

Glad you like it! :) Interior pictures will come at some point but at the moment all buildings (except the restaurant) are work in process and quite empty inside... Even though I've had fun building, I still dislike decorating :D

like i've said millions and millions of times before, i always admire people who build tons of lots or do bacc because i don't have the patience. the detail you have to put into the project make it decent is utterly amazing to me. i have problems enough building one house so lots of homes, apartment buildings and community lots are so amazing! keep up the good work and i'm looking forward to the next updates!!

I agree with the others, you have areal eye for taking awesome pictures...like you are walking around the hood, I love it.
I nabbed that hood....I have been searching for something like that for awhile now! I've been using a Belladonna cove one but I wanted more beach lots......

All of these lots are so awesome! I think the library may be my favorite, it is really nice. I also love how even though the neighborhood is fairly empty at this point, the pictures do not reflect it at all. You really are talented with picture taking. [=
