People listing Star Trek: TNG as one of their favourite treks are everywhere. i'd seen the pictures, i'd seen the gifs, i'd heard about the characters, i'd absorbed this notion of captain picard as a wise, tea drinking grandpa.

Everything voyager did with dramatic hampster camera zooms, tng did MORE!! with DRAMATIC MUSIC!!! chewing the scenery?? im surprised there was any left! that kindly grandpa? an unstable emotional wreck reduced to screaming at children! (or about children? my memory is fuzzy but the poor man clearly needed support and counselling). drama! bad dialogue! jeopardy! plotlines that clearly belonged later in the series were there!

Anyway im assuming it either got better at some point or TNG has secretly been everyone's MST3K style drinking game experience and nobody ever bothered to let me know
