Here in The Realm of OCs, we welcome members to share creations of their original characters — be it art, writing, physical crafts, etc — and to post general discussion, lore, and rambling.

Be sure to check out other's works, and have fun! Anyone is welcome to join.

That being said, here's a few rules to start out:

Be kind to one another! Please resolve any conflict in private, or contact a mod for help.
Don't post and run, be sure to interact and comment on other's posts. (This is not strictly enforced, but remember this is a community, not a personal journal.)
OCxCanon is allowed.
18+ content should be age restricted per Dreamwidth's guidelines.
Tag posts by type (ex. art, writing, music, crochet, rambling, etc).
Tags can also be descriptive (ex. elf, sci-fi, doctor, etc.), add new ones as needed. Feel free to tag by character name too, but it's not required.

hi hi, name's aid (she/her), it's what i'm usually known as online!! 25+ and soon gonna be using 30+ in a few years LOL. asuraid is my usual handle on art sites (or sometimes personal sites like dreamwidth just bc i have no plans of separating art/personal). i do digital art mostly, tho i have the potential adhd bug of 'tries a bajillion new projects/hobbies with the complete fervor of someone ready to conquer the world, and drops them two weeks later because the interest has worn off'. otherwise i do coding (i have my own neocities site), and like making carrds for funsies (i've made a lot mostly for the tumblr roleplay community).

speaking of OCs, i tend to be a person that fixates on a single one for many, many years, and that right now is Sylvie, my genshin OC who you uh ... see plastered everywhere you look on any of my accounts. they're also my first forray back into oc/canon since they kiss mister Zhongli Genshin Impact (art by the lovely scarameownya). my beloved tree god(dess) with a big heart and goofy humour to hide the fact they are smart and observative. also a big foodie.

A chibi version of Zhongli carrying Sylvie, who looks embarrassed about it, whereas Zhongli looks proud.

aside from that, i have my eldritch entity space man Yadyra (who sylvie knows by coincidence of being friends w/his sister who is literal death. no they don't know either how it happened), and Nameless who is a demon king technically under employment by Yadyra (handling corrupt souls to eat/take out of the reincarnation cycle, also hates Sylvie's guts).

otherwise i dont have very many active OCs (but you can check them out on my toyhouse), Sylvie is my insane obsession. i learned abt munbonding semi-recently, and it kinda embodies that they're like a living character in my head to a degree (aka i can talk to them if i want, i dont need to explicitly sit and think on what they'd do ... but it's also a coping/comfort thing to me as well)

I have so many OCs! So it's easier to talk about my originalfic universes. These are my main two 'verses:

Chronicles of the Great Peninsula

Chronicles of the Great Peninsula. A cycle of mythic historical fantasy series about a battle between cultures, Chronicles of the Great Peninsula is set at a time when a centuries-old civilization is in danger of being destroyed. The cycle is inspired by conflicts between cultures during late antiquity.

Turn-of-the-Century Toughs

Turn-of-the-Century Toughs. Honored seven times in the Rainbow Awards for LGBTA literature, Turn-of-the-Century Toughs is a cycle of gaslamp alternate history series about disreputable men on the margins of society, and the men and women who love them. Set in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, as well as in a future that never existed, the novels and stories take place in an alternative version of America that was settled by inhabitants of the Old World in ancient times.

Chronicles of the Great Peninsula is mainly about platonic life-partnerships; it also features friendship, family, romance (f/m and m/m), and enemies. Turn-of-the-Century Toughs is mainly about m/m romance; it also features platonic life-partners, friendship, family, f/m romance, and enemies.

Hello everyone! I'm Mary and I go by they/them pronouns. I write fanfiction, original fiction, and meta from my favorite series. I'm also a web master currently maintaining my own website with a couple of improvements in the works.

My main OCs are Ryuugamine Kiyoshi and Kirishima Keima. Kiyoshi (or Kiyo) and Kei for short. While I enjoy to reuse them for different fandoms and stories (kind of a Touya and Yukito situation from CLAMP), I'll write about their versions in what started as a college AU, called For The Freedom to Love (FTL). Basically their new adult versions in the modern world.

Keima and Kiyoshi became best friends in elementary school and a few years later became boyfriends! They have known each other more than ten years. Their ship name is KeiKiyo, hehe. Kiyoshi calls Keima his "boyfriend" and Keima calls Kiyoshi his "partner". Keima describes his partner as "too good for this world" to Kiyoshi's chagrin and can get really protective, particularly because Kiyoshi gets offended easily and can be a bit of a doormat.

You can read almost 50k words about their lives in intimate detail in my NSFW fic archive, AO3, and dreamwidth archive. There's mostly smut for now, haha, but it's more character than porn.

Hi, all! My name is Dray, or Cherreh, and I have been a part of DWRP since around 2014. I've been roleplaying and making cyberpet adoptable dragons since 2004, though I'm not nearly as active as I was when I was younger.

Who are you? What name / alias and pronouns do you go by? Are you an artist, a writer, aspiring to be, or something else? Anything you find relevant to yourself.

I go by Dray predominantly, though 'Cherreh' or 'Cherrehc' have been more and more my go-to for new sites.

I'm an artist, a writer, and a roleplayer of OC's (with the rare few fandom characters now and again.) I have a comfortable day-job in production of animation, and spend my downtime dabbling!

I'm a neurodivergent creator on the ADHD side of things; this puts me squarely into the 'flits from one thing to another to get that sweet dopamine' box.

Who are your main OCs? Are they part of a specific OC universe or fandom? What's their personality like?

My main OC's lately are Jolene Harris and Ryan Planter, two young twenty-somethings surviving an apocalyptic event in their hometown.

Jo and Ryan are built for an original universe to help showcase their devolving friendship with one another and relationship with themselves; the apocalypse they suffer is an eldritch one that helps them break down their identities to reveal their vulnerable cores.

Jo is a survivor: stubborn, opinionated, and not meant to be appealing, she is none-the-less a Last Girl with her quick thinking and quick-acting wroth.

Ryan is a dreamer: tentative, abstract, and intensely depressed, he has trouble making it through the day-to-day let alone a world turned upside down. However, there are parts of him that have lived out of phase with reality since he was young. He has potential to fit better into a ruined world than Jo ever will.

What relationships exist between your OCs? Be it platonic, romantic, familial, or even enemies and so on!

Between Jo and Ryan, platonic relationship-- they aren't one another's type but they still have a lot of sides that compliment one another, and before the world ended, they'd made an alliance to survive college together.

I have buttloads of other OC's that I'm thinking of featuring now and again based on what prompts suit them! I'm really looking forward to bringing a few out at a time and showing off what their strong points and weaknesses are.

What motivates your OC towards their goals?
Are they doing it all for someone they love? If they're seeking revenge, why does it matter so much to them? Or on a less dramatic scale, if their goal is career-focused, why did they choose this career path and continue on it? Maybe they want a quiet life, but why?

Hello, I'm Selena! 28, she/her. I'm a more recent addition to the OC-loving community; though I was making OCs/canon in my head for years, I didn't start to seriously act on them until the last year or two. I have OCs of all types, which include my (just one for now) sona, different universes, and even some of my Neopets! I'll share these two for my intro since I'm quite fond of them (hehe). Anyway, hope to make everyone's acquaintance and chat about lovely OCs!

On the right is Azrael, who carries within him the blood of the slain Demon King; born from a forbidden union between a lowly angel and a pauper-in-disguise, he lived peacefully in Celestia, Realm of the Heavens with the other angels for years when his half-demon traits eventually manifested. The Transcended, the controlling council of Celestia, debated on what to do with the youngest Being (basically what we would call immortals) since very few were born and Azrael had been the youngest at 120 cycles. Purging him from eternia was a serious act and usually reserved for unforgiveable acts for which they deemed his existence to be. They could not risk another Demon King despite his innocence, and his mother wept tears of blood in their wake.

On the left is Seraph, a seraphim who has gone by many names in their cycles. Azrael calls them "Raphy". They were once one of the Transcended's Chosen, known as the most favored and loved attendants in the House of Cosmos, where the Transcended congregate. They were tasked with purging Azrael which disillusioned them regarding the council's true goals. Fede, the mother of Azrael, made an impassioned plea to save his life to which Seraph joined the exile pact. To leave the Heavens is akin to treason where one will never be able to return and the sacrifice needed ensured that. Seraph chose to sacrifice their life force, bonding the two eternally in the process. As such, Seraph would survive only as Azrael continued to live, having pledged to serve and protect him everlasting.

Azrael offered his left eye, unaware that he was fated to share the same injury as his damned father.

And that's really it about their backstories for now, or as much I can explain that won't make this introduction even longer! I've been writing a fic/story of sorts in progress that I should probably get back to... It might be a little cliché but I AM a sucker for forbidden/taboo romance and immortal age gap. Sighs.

In terms of their dynamic, Az is in love with Seraph, though the feeling is (currently?) not mutual. Seraph is hundreds of cycles older than Az, and sees him more like a son than anything romantic. To Az, Seraph is the reason why he still lives, and there is no greater debt to repay. How to repay in his mind is up for debate. This is also why I chose this picture to show of them (art by the talented jingu289 ♥); I think it shows their dynamic/personalities well!! Will they be end game? It'll be a sloooooow burn if that does happen to which even I'm unsure!

ALL.... I cant even encompass the amount of different relationships and connections between these guys, it actually makes it extremely hard to make "summaries" because theres so much context i need to type out in a readable way. I have a lot of difficulty with this, especially when people ask me to talk about my ocs its like.... hard kjdhkjdh i really want to though! I do well with prompts because it lets me laser focus on a subject rather than talk about one person and the massive web of bullshit thats attached to them LMAO
