SGA S4 Ep 3 Renunion
Oct. 13th, 2007 01:05 pmForewarning, I'm a big Rodney fan so my Atlantis viewing tends to focus on how his character is being treated/written.
I thought it was sweet the way he wanted everyone and Radek to be proud of him but then didn't he look a bit sad when he found out he wasn't getting the job?
The fruit basket thing came across as a bit childish to me.
Did anyone else notice that the whole Ronon finding more Sateden's was a big set up for the wraith to capture Rodney? Shouldn't something have been said about that, along the lines of he (and his team) will have to be extra careful or something?
I loved the fight sequence in the Wraith lab, Rodney looked really competent firing his gun.
When Sam and team found John and Teyla, why didn't anyone ask where Rodney was? Then when they found Rodney why didn't anyone ask how he was? You know a quick are you OK, would have been natural?
Any way its good to see Ronon with something else to do, filling him out more as a character and the end sequence with them was painful.
I liked how they introduced Carter. Not too over the top but standing her ground. (What's with the crappy uniform they have her wearing it really doesn't flatter her figure).
Oh and Rodney had Ronon's painting, well I'm choosing to see it as sweet! So there!

I just wanted to let all the authors know that when I comment on their fic's and its small, possibly very small, like "Great fic. thanks.", it's just because I can't write and find it very difficult to come up with something worthy of what I just read, so will keep it small but hopefully not stupid. I really do love everything I read and wish I could respond with equal talent, instead it will just be enthusiastic (if small).
So thanks to you all, they are all great fic's!

Notes: Two people deserve more thanks than I can possibly give for this story. amireal and fairestcat, who held my hand while I pounded out the initial draft, who talked me through innumerable rewrites, who convinced me that people would actually want to read this. This story would not exist in the first place if it were not for amireal, and it wouldn't be nearly as good if it were not for fairestcat, who took on the gargantuan task of beta'ing this monster.

1. Rodney as the main character, then John and then rest of the team.
2. Rodney gets fed up/upset with his team not treating him seriously and taking him for granted, as a result he is getting snarkier (is that a word?).
3. The team annoyed with this decide to play a prank on Rodney off world trying to teach him a lesson about being annoying.
4. Its probably a previously scouted world, maybe unpopulated.
5. They make him think something bad is going to happen and they leave him to deal with it.
6. But something goes wrong and Rodney gets hurt physically (not permanently) and emotionally as he doesn't know at the time that its a prank.
7. It can be gen or slash
There must be a happy ending.
