Arkalian is a man in his early to mid-40s who specializes in family medicine. He's an electromancer, agoraphobic, and angry all the time. While he didn't consciously retain his memories as a doctor following the Ground Zero event 20 years ago, he did retain a subconscious recollection of how to do his job. This means that he's perfectly capable of figuring out what's wrong with patients, but only if he's presented with the injury or illness first. It's like muscle memory. As an electromancer, Arkalian suffers from minor to moderate heart trouble, including tachycardia and arrhythmia. This would be an unpleasant enough issue on its own, but unfortunately Arkalian isn't alone in his skin; if his heart stops Arkalian is replaced by Liam "Ark" Arkhaven, the only known reanimation in the City. Where Arkalian does his best to do what's right, even if he doesn't enjoy it, Ark is absolutely and utterly self-centered. If Arkalian's creed is "do no harm," Ark's is "go fuck yourself." Arkalian runs the Clinic, as he has for the last decade or so, and is the only medical professional currently serving the general public. His bedside manner leaves a lot to be desired, but he's never turned away a patient--in the City, that's saying a lot. |
