neekabeEveryone needs to go and read Six Lefts by calvinahobbes.
It's the same person who wrote the fic I mentioned a couple of entries back. And this one is like the author reached into my brain and wrote the awesome long asexual Neal that I always wanted but never had the skills to write myself (because long fic and I don't get along).
It has wee little Neal slowly coming to realize how he's different. It has wonderfully hilarious reactions to sex that feel exactly true (Neal not minding the actions but the reality of the other person is what's throwing him off). It has Neal heartbroken to see that how he loves apparently isn't enough. It has Neal learning how to use sex, how to fake it for a con.
It has Neal falling in love with Peter and Elizabeth, and being wary because he doesn't want to fake it with them, but trusting them. It has this line, which is exactly perfect
"I think one of the things that I like about our situation is that you have each other," he explained one night, curled up close between them in bed. "That way you don't need me so much for the sex part."
I'm going to accept this fic as the the balance to all tooth pain I will have. And it's totally worth it
