SIRIM Berhad and Bioverde Technologies Sdn Bhd have formally exchanged a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to cement their partnership across a range of strategic areas, including quality enhancement, product development, research and innovation, certification, testing, training and consultancy services. The signing took place during a ceremony on 13 August 2026 at the Sarawak Bioindustrial Park in Kota Samarahan, Sarawak. The event was graced by the presence of the Right Honourable Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari bin Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg, Premier of Sarawak, alongside YB Dato Sri Roland Sagah Wee Inn, Minister for Education, Innovation and Talent. SIRIM Berhad was represented by its Chairman, Datuk Ir. (Dr) Khairol Anuar Mohamad Tawi, and President and Group Chief Executive Officer, Nik Sazali Nik Hussin. Bioverde Technologies was represented by Ts. Hazwan Bin Razak. The collaboration will centre on developing and commercialising products and technologies, with a particular focus on Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and other management system certifications. It will also encompass research and development into innovative products, such as cosmetics, alongside testing, inspection, calibration, training and consultancy services provided by SIRIM and its subsidiaries. The MoU strengthens collaboration in training, consultancy, certification, industry development, standards, and initiatives focused on quality, technology and sustainability.
