Time for some major suqeeing....... ** SQUEEEEEEEE**   Torchwood Season 4!!!   Captain Jack's back to a TV screen near you 2011.     I am OVER THE MOON!!!!   I can't wait.... :-) :-)   Squeed so very loudly when I read the announcement on LJ I'm sure they heard me over in the next state ;-)

Was PM-ing frakkin_addict about this yesterday night and this morning and we got to talking about how we feel and the potential in TW S04.

Post CoE, there have been some fairly major fallout  in the TW fandom.   Some people who hated it and some who loved it - swinging to both extremes with very few fence sitters.

The story developed the way the writers wanted to write it, I believe.    And absolutely everyone is entitled to their own views and takes on what developed in TW. 

My take is that a great deal of good emerged from CoE.   Now before anyone shoots me...., please hear me out.....

Post S03, there has been an explosion of CoE fix it fan fics posted here on LJ and on other related sites - some of them really, really fantastic ones too.    I know as I've been devouring these lovely stories and completely LOVING them.    Plus the virtual series of TW which concluded recently on LJ - WOW!!!.    Just WOW!!!!!

All this wonderful outpouring of creativity and caring and fans and new friends coming together for what is clearly a labour of love can only be all GOOD, ya?

In addition to CoE fix it fics, I have been shoring up on all the TW fan fics which have built up such a wonderful tapestry of back stories and AU verses for TW and Janto and the rest of the team.    How we have come to love these characters in such a short time.      In my mind now, these back stories all form part of TW and Janto canon for me - if that makes sense? 

So I am doing what JB is doing in my icon here plus what he does always in real life - smile :-) and look forward with optimism.    I'm keeping a positive outlook that TW fans will be treated to a great and exiting and respectful telling of the on-going stories involving it's characters and storylines.    And it is always a treat to see JB as Jack, yes?   Yes!!  **bounces happily in my chair**     btw don't you just love his dimples.....??

JB has himself been really enthusiastic about TW S04 and he's asked that fans give it a chance to tell its story. Just like he asked fans to give 11th Doc Matt Smith a chance to develop and grow into the iconic character after David Tennant left.   And JB's been right, by all accounts DW S05 has delivered on the DW promise of great story telling and character development.

So I'm trusting JB on this.  And as I understand it Starz is a premium channel in the States so there won't be any tampering with the characters or storylines to "tone it down to fit in" with generic audiences.   That I would never forgive.......

Therefore until 2011 I'll be :-

a)  overloading my senses with more, more, more wonder TW fanfics... yaaayyyyyy !!!    Any good recs, anyone?   To add to the long list of titles I've already book marked for reading.     Now you know how I spend my free time and weekends ;-)    Well worth it I say.

b)  overloading my imagination with mental images of JB in full Jack uniform and wearing his glasses... **THUD**

It may be just me but JB looks unbelievably hot in glasses. The few pics there are of him in casual tees wearing glasses are great .    But my all time fav are of him in a formal dark suit wearing glasses hosting BAFTAs Red Carpet arrival of stars.    oh...... be still my heart!!! 

So imaging what he looks like as Jack wearing the great coat and glasses it too hot a fantasy for my poor heart to handle.. maybe?!!!   **pant .. pant... giggle**

hmmmm, also I've never seen a pic of him and Scott together where he's wearing glasses.     Anyone seen one?    Do tell :-)

So I'm looking forward for the best and impatiently await Captain Jack's return to our TV screens 2011.    2011 can't come soon enough!!

Till then, there's always QVC with JB part 2 on May 22.......
