Guys, I dreamt I had the chance to date Nathan Fillion. All I had to do to win was make a 30 second speech about why we would be awesome together. Except my speech sucked and all I could think of were reasons it would be a bad idea and reasons we would be amazing BFFs. Also my hover-style craft thing kept floating away and he had to keep pulling it back.

Via [personal profile] ghostdrive: Loco Roco themed nursery - adorable.

It’s everything I could have wanted in an Easter post from Cute Overload.

Kate Beaton + Penny Arcade = homoeroticism? Wait, what? Also Not Kate Beaton, but XKCD about earthquake notification via Twitter is dead accurate. See what I did there? Ha.

Things of interest to me on [community profile] fangasmic this week: TFLN, Doctor Who post I agree with almost entirely, an explanation for what the hell happened on ANTM this week (PS: I now enjoy just watching Nigel’s face while Tyra hands out photos. Hilarious.).

Canada doesn’t have iPads yet but this might be relevant to your interests if your country does -- how to convert other file formats to ePub. (On a mac, a PC, or a linux machine!)

I love these kids and their musical theory.

OTW decides to make fanart archive; AO3 still sucks balls. I just feel this is a very bad idea until the AO3 has reached a level I might call “passable”. Right now I don’t read anything on there. Ever. That’s how bad it is.

Like Kate Hewlett needed inserts, please. Have you seen her rack?

Save space on your iPhone without deleting anything.

Hell, I imagine, is always some frustration or thing you do not enjoy, for eternity. Like this un-winable game of Tetris. Check the alt text. Just thinking about the theoretical Katamari and Mario games made me tense.

Good news: Canadians flying to the states can take two carry on bags again or something. Whatever.

Heads up, people do this all the time. Before you visit a foreign country, you should probably exchange your currency. We actually get a tonne of Americans trying to use American money here.

Well, shit. There were a lot of good things in the iPhone/Pad 4.0 release (though not as many as I’d hoped) and then there was this, which is basically a deal-breaker. Apple, not cool. Not cool ever.

Maru, still adorable, still needs boxhab.

TELL CANADA WHAT THE IPAD DEAL IS, APPLE. TELL US NOW. I don’t want to have to drive to the freaking states to buy one since our dollars are basically par, and then return here to a horrible 3G plan offered by the hell hole that is Rogers. DON’T RUIN THIS FOR ME.

The One Where Arthur is Turned Into a Girl by Misswinterhill [Merlin/Arthur]
Arthur offends a travelling goddess who turns him into a girl for a week. Lovely.

Guys I have been reading some epic Star Trek fic all week. Sorry I haven’t had time to read anything else! It is honestly all I do. I read it, and read it, and sometimes paste bits of it or describe it to some friends and then they all ask me why I am so terrible inside and tell me they hate me. But it is amazing. In related news: I only have one Merlin rec for you this week. Sorry?

I have touched an iPad! Right here in Montreal! It was very shiny. WAAAAAANT

Also, heee! Can we has Trek recs, pretty please? There's only so many times I can obsessively reread War Games before it becomes a bit weird, you know? :P

Er. I've just reread the last bit of your post and caught on the "epic fic", singular. Maybe we should form a War Games support group? Unless there's another life-eating epic out there I'm not aware of (in which case, omg linky plz?)

The sad thing is, I will probably end up keeping these tabs opened, I am getting that desperate. fsfdshgfvncjjkfdsag

I WOULD THANK YOU EXCEPT I KINDA HATE YOU RIGHT NOW.

Whaaaaat AO3 totally works on my itouch. I swear it does! I had to enable javascript though so it would stop going >:( at me.

Also good job on reading trek fic. Come to the dark side. IDK about Lucky Star but I'm totally reading Vulcan Mating Rituals and it's the most BDSM fic I've ever actually read past the point where I figured out it was BDSM, and I like it in a shameless way.

I was all, whaaaat - what's the problem with AO3? and then read this explanation. I have no readability probs with AO3 on my laptop. Is there some difference between how you and I are accessing it? I read it on FireFox on my MacBook, and my only add-ons that might affect it are GreaseMonkey.

In any case, I'm sorry you're running into problems, because I totally adore all the tag filtering options on AO3, and I've spent many happy hours reading the fic there. I don't have an iPhone, though, so can't comment about possible problems that way.

Wow, that's frustrating. And it sucks balls that they didn't get back to you! It seems out of character for them (although my dealings with them have been more of the "here, I shall give you money" and "possibly you might want to support this feminist tech project" kind, which obviously they're going to respond to.)

Grrr, reading problems.

Hi there,

I hope you won't mind my dropping a note here: your friend linked us to your conversation via a support request on the Archive. I have responded to her in detail, but I wanted to assure you personally that we do consider accessibility issues a high priority on the Archive, and we also try to respond to everyone who contacts us about the Archive within a week or less. I'm not sure what happened in your case, but it seems that something went wrong (possibly your request didn't get through to us) and we're very sorry that you were left feeling that we don't care.

We're working on more viewing options for the Archive, which we hope will resolve the problems you've been experiencing. In the meantime, please do contact us via our support and feedback form with any questions or concerns - we endeavour to respond to support requests in a clear and timely manner.

Thanks - and apologies for your bad experience in this case.

Huh. I'm actually rather fond of the AO3 layout—I just export fics to Stanza, though, so I haven't used it that much on my iPhone—also, I've had to ?style=mine far too many fics on LJ to enjoy customizable layouts much when reading fanfiction.

Star Trek recs, you say? *perks up* *reads comments* *clicks!*

Well, I like to disable 3G on my iPhone to have the battery last for days instead of 12, 15 hours, so yes, I do have to export things to Stanza *g*

Oh, I'm not complaining about AO3's choice of customizable layouts or lack thereof—it's people's far too variable styles on LJ that annoy me. *grins*

Well, you could always try filling out the form again!
