The Steam winter sale has been on and I bought a few games. I've been playing a lot of Hidden Folks which is like an animated Where's Waldo/Wally, but black and white and with sound and a long list of things to find. It's fun! I can only play it for about 30 minutes at a time because otherwise it's overwhelming but if you like little bits and pieces of that, this is fun and hella cheap.

The Best Dear Prudence letters of 2018 list includes a lot of entitled in-laws and parents who need to chill the fuck out, paired with stories where I just yell DUMP HIS ASS at the screen. Please, in 2019: dump his ass.  

If someone at my work was this annoying to me and tried to take my headphones out of my ears after I had repeatedly asked him to stop, I'd probably smack him involuntarily.

If you haven't listened to/read Danny Ortberg's Dear Prudence before, the last episode of 2018 covers highlights of the year including the last letter which made me want to claw my face off on behalf of the letter writer.

Last year a friend introduced me to Games Done Quick, which hosts two annual fundraisers each year. This week they're running the winter one, which funds the Cancer Prevention Society. All day every day for a week they have pro gamers doing speed runs and special runs. It's totally entrancing and you can watch some old favourites! The first day included a Majora's Mask speed run and Mario Kart DS time trials. In the summer they'll do another one for MSF/Doctors Without Borders. Check it out!

I'm reading a bunch of BBC Merlin stuff this week in-between watching GDQ and returning to work after an extended break. Help. My sleep schedule is fuuuuuuuuuucked.

I basically ruined our office holiday party telling everyone about this news story about a guy in long island who doesn't seem to fully get yet that his mom killed his dad and buried him in the basement. Or I thought I had, but then someone started telling a long story about her child vomiting repeatedly and I was like you know what? Still winning.

• I'm reading The Earl I Ruined and I love it right up until the 84-86% mark where I got so made I put it down and haven't been able to bring myself to pick it up yet. Pre-Regency BDSM fake engaged romance. (Me on goodreads)

 

• The Christmas Prince 2 is just as good and as bad as the first one. The main problem is they decided not to steam her wedding dress and it's all I can think about.

 

• I'm in a playcast about intern witches in regency Bitaly (It's like Italy but in a world where every country starts with B). We're recording the next episode tomorrow (!) and it gets better all the time. Give it a listen!

Tonight I have christmas with my dad, his girlfriend, the little shits (her sons, who are my age but useless), her half-daughter (who hated me on sight for no reason apparently), and... a lot of other people?? Wish me luck. It's going to be A Lot and there is usually some Drama.
