My old LJ entries should be moved over soon. I hope.
In the meantime... here I am.
Job searching sucks, but I do have more to do (watch webinars, they'll solve all my problems, apparently!) and I did get a promising phone call today from a recruiter. The job is short-term for now, but with the possibility to convert, it's in Schaumburg, would pay well, and my resume is a great fit. and the agency (Planet Interactive) has good insurance options for their contractors.
So... maybe it will work out and maybe not and it's not a dream job, to be sure (at least in that it's contract to start) but... it's nice to have a good lead, finally. It's nice to have someone say my resume is impressive. A little bit of an ego boost at least.
Tomorrow afternoon I'm gonna travel to rural Indiana to hang out with my mom for a couple of days. That should be nice, if a little dull.
Friday night we have a thing to go to, meet some new people... and Sunday is Easter so we'll go see the fam. Fun, fun.

Dreamwidth migration
Apr. 10th, 2017 08:40 amI didn't think it was a huge deal when Livejournal was purchased by a Russian company. I wasn't even sure it was too important that the servers got moved.
But the new TOS is ... sketchy as hell and definitely anti-First Amendment and anti-lgbt. (see cleolinda post here for more details: https://cleolinda.tumblr.com/post/159268444899/dreamwidth) It makes me sad to leave LJ, I've been here since 2003, since you needed an invite code. I'm not going to delete everything right away, but I plan to start posting new content at Dreamwidth, and I'm migrating everything over to that journal so my 14 years of stuff is backed up.
You can find me at misslynn.dreamwidth.org. I hope those of you who are still reading will join me.

with friends like these...
Feb. 4th, 2007 01:58 amseems like it bears repeating for the couple of new people who have added me lately but not introduced themselves. plus it fell off the main part of my public journal:
i generally don't add people who haven't introduced themselves and explained why they think we oughta be friends. i want to know and care about the people on my friendslist. and, be it vain or no, i want them to know and care about me.
so: please comment! introducing yourself is strongly encouraged!
