New York
On Saturday we did end up going to NYC and I was happy that Diane had changed her mind and went with us. It was an excellent day--the weather was great (although a tad bit windy, especially at the Top of the Rockefeller building), the company was great and it was just an overall awesome day.

Below are just a couple of my favorite photos from the day, but here is the whole album.

The photos aren't that great. My camera is working but it only works on SPORTS mode. All the other modes won't shoot--so it might be time for a new camera.

Larry waiting in the New Haven train station--excited for the day ahead.

This is at the NYC Public library and the architecture is quite pretty. They had these shops outside the library at the park in back and that's where I got some of the best apple cider I've ever had (pictured holding up Larry in the below photo).

I'm Still Here
*Headscratch* So, um ... Sorry for the 'radio silence' the last week and a half ... I tend to get very quiet when I go on vacation around the blog. I just wanted to touch base ... Now that it's wrapping up, I am finally dreading heading back to work, lol.

The first week of vacation I did practically nothing except read, watch TV, movies and sleep. This past week I've done a lot more.

New Movies (for me) Watched
Captain American (B+) - I think it was pretty good, but it could have been a lot better. It was rushed in some parts and some of the CGI in was clearly a rush job as well. BUT, I still think it was pretty good once you get past the first 30 minute "intro/background" type of deal.

Priest (A) - I LOVED IT! I had no clue that Karl Urban was in it, and he was fantastic; he's such a great actor. So is Paul Bettany and Maggie O (whom I love in the TV show Nikita)! What an awesome cast they had for this film. I also enjoyed the plot and the action... hopefully there's more to come.

Adjustment Bureau (B+) - It was okay. I thought it was going to be ... different. I guess it wasn't exactly what I expected but it wasn't totally awful.

Moon (A+) - today I saw this; I'd never even heard of the film--it was really good. It was pretty much a 1 person film ... and he did such a kick ass job. I highly recommend it. It was pretty twisted and fucked up, but I liked it.

We went to a small island on the Connecticut River on Sunday; my brother took us all on his boat-- it was a great deal of fun. Trisha's folks went, Trisha, My aunt and uncle, Diane, and my whole family. Here are just a couple of photos I took (didn't take many).

Monday we hung out at home because the day was dreary and yucky. Tuesday we hit up Rocky Neck State Park, which is the usual beach I go to. These photos are from last summer -- I have not been in the mood this summer to take photos, which is very unlike me.

Yesterday we went to Boston; Quincy Market area. I didn't bring my camera (that whole not int he mood thing, not sure what's wrong with me), but these were taken with the cell. We spent about 4 hours in Quincy, and then we headed to the Wrentham Outlets. It was a lot of walking, but it was such a great day.

Couldn't shrink these images so they're behind a cut )

Today I am at home chillin' like a villin' :D Doing some reading, watching some cheesy movies.

Also, I finished book 41 the other day, and am almost at my goal. I don't think I'll make a new goal, but next year I'll add another handful to my goal. The series I read that I finished with this book was a great disappointing end.

With that, I am going to say adieu until another day. I should hopefully be writing with a bit more frequency now. I am almost going to go attempt to catch up on journals, but I make no promises *hugs* I hope you all had a great 10ish days :D

Block Island - Photos
FINALLY finished going through the photos and picking out the ones I liked ... then I edited a few. Below are my favorite from the day, but feel free to peek through the whole album here. Only one was edited with picnik (I note it), the 'people' ones were edited in photoshop, and the rest were only cropped but not edited.

Project 365 - Day 29-31
Day 29 - Had subway today. It was delicious. Six inch, chicken teriyaki.
Day-029

Day 30 - Since I did nothing today, I tried to get creative and took a photo of the lamp on my nightstand. Yeah ... I'm creative. HA
Day-030

Day 31 - I was on the treadmill, so excuse the angle of this. The gym this morning, as I was about to get off the treadmill. I'll have to take a photo of when I get there and it's pitch black outside, haha.

See why I love it in the mornings? There's barely ANYONE there... ha!

This is on the 2nd floor. On the first there are lots of weight machines, etc.

New York Trip
I had such an amazing time today in NYC, and if I weren't beyond exhausted, I'd go into more detail. Im shocked I had the energy to stay up this late, but I had to get my photos up. They didn't come out as great as I'd hoped, but I'm happy with them (being as they're mostly night shots). So, here are a handful of my favorites. Enjoy!

The whole album is here. :D

001. Waiting for the train in New Haven. We drove around for almost an hour trying to find a parking garage/place and finally found one. It was so packed (train too).

Vacation: Day 1, August 4th 2007 Massachusetts.
So, I finally have access to my photos. Since LJ is being a beeotch, I am only uploading a few images from each day into a slide show and then when it all works I'll upload all of them onto LJ and share the link ... so, below is the first day (the rest of the days will have a LOT more photos).

I went to Massachusetts the first day. We did some shopping (you'll notice my aunt pushing a huge cart of stuff in one of the images), and then drove to my mom's cousin's house (so my 2nd cousin) in New Bedford to sleep the night in their drive way. In the morning we left their house and came back to Connecticut to go to the beach and camp for the week.

They have an awesome looking home (in the slideshow). The area they live in is so beautiful. I would love to live out in the middle of nature. Also snuck a photo of my two cousins. The guy is related to my mom, but the wife is so sweet. I loved her to pieces. Their house is gorgeous. They had a bathroom with a jacuzzi in it that they NEVER use ... haha!

ANYWAY. Here's the slide show for the first day. I'm working on the one for the second day. I had posts that I wrote during the trip, but I'll make those later in one big post (again, more for my memories than anything else).

Oh yeah, and just looking through the slides I saw the one of the gentlemen's club that I took from the road. What a great name ... ha! Most of these are from the road.
