The questions were originally suggested by newagebastard.

1. What’s harder to live without, chocolate or alcohol?
I probably like my glass of wine with dinner more.

2. Does the color yellow remind you of anything?
Spring, daffodils, brightness.

3. Who most annoyed you last week?
Democrats who folded.

4. Do you have a cutesy romantic nickname for your partner (or previous partners)?
I sometimes call the cats "honbuns".

5. What is your favorite Stephen King movie?
I've only seen one that I know of. I'm not a scary movie fan, but I watched the first "IT" miniseries long ago and liked it. Scary enough for me.

It's that time of year when I try to stockpile things I'll need in Nov/Dec, so that the closer I get to the holidays, the less I have to go anywhere. Bathroom necessities, kitty litter, make sure I have cleaning products, food that can go into the freezer. Batten down the hatches.

Thinking of a movie I want to stream on Thanksgiving. Maybe, Nobody 2?

These questions were originally suggested by akarii.

1. What do you see when you are looking out of the window closest to you?
The closest is dull, the other one is a view of the back yard and is much more agreeable.

2. Who was the last person coming into your room?
Me, always me.

3. What is the most predominant colour around you?
The walls are dull white, but the blanket is dark blue with roses and Eiffel Towers on it.

4. What is right behind you?
A headboard and a window with a chewed up blind.

5. What is on today's calendar sheet?
I’ve cleaned the litter boxes, vacuumed, paid bills and mailed them. The rest of the day is waiting for the PBS shows. Sunday mysteries, yay!

It's Autumn, right? Well, I have an important question. WHERE are the persimmons? I mean, where!

I felt the need for retailing lately. I bought two new couch covers for the couch the cats have made an eyesore. I couldn’t find another spring green one (the cats tore the one I had), probably because of tariffs. I bought a pink one which complements the curtains. If I get tired of being posh, I have one that is like a tiedyed with circles of vibrant colors, so garish, I love it. If the cats scratch these, and I’m going to discourage that, I will patch them. I can’t be new slipcovering all the time.

I got the ginger snaps I ordered from Philly and, oh, alright, I bought some hard to find Tastikakes, too. It’s beautiful weather now but this weekend, there’ll be more rain, I’ll have cookies and coffee and tv. I’m snacked up.

The tree I see outside my back window that was in full Fall foliage, glowing deep red and orange, suffered during a recent hard shower. Lost most of its leaves and now looks very forlorn. Know how you feel, bud.

I also bought some new sheets. I wanted to replace an old one that was just too small for the mattress and would keep popping off it. Most every day I’d have to wrestle it back on. I got a sheet that’s a deep rose color and I love it. And some patterned ones that don’t look as good as the photo of them, and there’s a top sheet I don’t need. Maybe I’ll make curtains from it to replace the window blinds the cats have severely injured.

I put up my winter curtains. The living room is certainly darker. Cozy? Well, certainly darker.

So, I’ve been in this place for a year now. I know what to expect weather wise. Know that the backyard needs outside help. Know which grocery stores to go to for various things. I’m still hesitant to go over to Eugene which seems much busier to me and is full of one way streets.

Winter will be closing in. Wearing a jacket to go out now. Thinking about digging out the heater to install in the bedroom. The cats are sleeping on the bed at night instead of the cool wood floor. Also, sometimes lying against my leg, that little radiator. I’m buying bird seed to put out in the coming months.

The recent sky has puzzled me. There were no clouds, at all. Just a bowl of blue (before the rain came). I found that so odd.

I remembered I have winter curtains to put up. Insulated. Will have to get around to that.

The cats have discovered the hilarity of middle of the night unrolling the toilet paper roll. In the morning I discover a wad of paper on the floor. Fun for Everybody!

I’ve ordered some ginger cookies from a place in Philly. Nostalgia, though I never liked them much when I was young. My taste buds were more sensitive then and these are intense cookies. At least they were and I had a sudden desire to taste them again. They mean Fall to me as well.

I was sitting upright in bed but drowsy, and I started to dream about President Andrew Johnson, but my subconscious said, or do I mean Andrew Jackson. I got irritated and woke up.

The Discover card bother went as I assumed it would. There were phone callS. It would help if I weren’t pretty much of an idiot. I can’t think on the phone. But they have their nine dollars and all is well.

Happily, Taskmaster is back. I’m not as fond of these players as of the last bunch but I’m warming up to them.

I’ve cut off all my streaming sites; I’ll wait until Acorn or Britbox have something I want to see. It’ll probably be a cozy mystery. Roku has their own channel and Midsomer Murders plays continually. I pop in, watch a scene or two and usually drop out at the commercial. I already know who ALL the murderers are.

I’ve washed and put away the seersucker pedal pushers. From now on it’s black jeans. Summer is over. I may even get out the crocheting project soon.

Robert Redford died. I always thought he was a better actor than he was given credit for. Too much focusing on the pretty.

A good while ago I traveled to Oregon from CA for the Labor Day weekend. I took some kayak lessons. It seemed to me that the weather changed over the four days. Autumn came. Living here now I find that to be true. It’s overcast most days, there are sprinkles of rain with more coming up. Just like that, it’s Fall. The leaves are turning and soon we’ll be ankle deep in crinkley crunchy dry stuff.

I went to Trader Joe’s this week. I didn’t get all pumpkined out, though there’s that opportunity. Pumpkin is the only squash I’ll eat but only if there’s lots of sugar and cinnamon added. I did buy some maple almonds and they were good. I have to remind myself that TJ runs must be done first thing in the morning, else I feel the press of TOO MANY PEOPLE. Why must they stare at all the cheeses for such a lengthy time? Don’t they know the kind of cheese they like? Cheddar? Blue? Something to shred for pasta? Eventually I just cut and run.

I’m winding down the garden. It’s not been a great success. The zinnias were great though. They’re on the roster for repeat. I’m saving money to have somebody really help me next year. There are some godawful, ugly bushes out there.

I also attended the monthly meeting at the Mobile Park clubhouse for the first time. I’m not good with strangers but a nice man did engage me in conversation. I learned that contrary to what I thought, we don’t have a swimming pool. Upkeep was too expensive and they turned it into a patio that gets more use. I did get the card that opens the back gate, which I was hoping to score. If I go again I will try to get info on good garden people.

I have insomnia, but if I fall asleep I’m like the dead. Last night in the small hours, the cat decided to make his opinions known in a very loud voice and in great length, great length. The yowls worked their way into my dreams and then they woke me. Before sunrise.

I have a Discover card that I use about once a year just so they don’t cancel me. I went to the website to see when it was due and realized that I have changed my computer and my phone # since I was last on the site. They can’t send a confirming text to the phone to assure them that it’s my computer, since it’s the old number. This might devolve into the dreaded phone call to them.

I bought Sony ear buds to listen to Pandora on the phone when I’m in the backyard. They worked once, and now they won’t connect to the phone. I feel as though I need a degree in something (electronics? physics? astral projection?) to understand the problem.

So that’s my life.

There was a sudden storm here. Lightening and THUNDER. One of the cats freaked out, found a cabinet to hide in. Didn’t finish breakfast. There was tropical like rain. Power was out for about 20 minutes, which is why I like a gas range. I was without coffee.

The heat is back now but it should be winding down in the days ahead to a more agreeable, humane point.

I went to buy groceries today and a clerk was pedaling free pumpkin cookies. I took one. Why would you put chocolate chips in a pumpkin cookie? It’s unnatural. And if you’re going to do that, use real choco. chips, not fake ones. Not a good cookie.

It’s going to be very warm the next few days, so I bought a rotisserie chicken, which has gone up a dollar since last I was in the store. They offer a six pack of mini soda free with the chicken. I got some full sugar root beer, instead of the Pepsi I got last time. The time I discovered I no longer like Pepsi at all.

I bought a hidden key holder to place outside because I’m bedeviled by the thought of being locked out. Now I have to find a super secret place to hide it. And not forget that place.

I got my hair cut because the next few days are going to be scorching and I don’t need a heavy rug on my head.

I’m watching A Spy Among Friends on Britbox. I generally dislike spy stories unless they’re about Kim Philby’s coterie. They fascinate me. Damian Lewis (red hair browned down), Guy Pearce and that woman from Ludwig. Good watching.

When I’m in the backyard, watering and such like, I like to play music and I’ve ordered ear buds because I was using things on wires and my goodness, they were annoying what with getting tangled in the hat I wear and the falling out of my ears. I’m already testy being in the hot sun. Let’s hope this is better.

So, August.

Crickets and their chirping have become loud, so loud the last couple of weeks. I would think it’s late to go a-wooing but I don’t live in cricket world.

I bought my first watermelon of the season. I devour stories on how to pick a ripe one. This one came close to perfection but not quite.

I’m about to start watching my Angel dvds. I considered starting Buffy first but I’ve seen both shows’ episodes so any times, It’s not like I’ll get confused.

Friday’s questions on Tuesday, bizzaro world!
Questions were suggested by angelich.

1. What is something you collect? Why?
Dvds, I guess. Of favorite shows and movies.

2. If you could make one ice cream flavor, what would the ingredients be and what would be the name?
I’d like Cherry Garcia to have nuts instead of chocolate. And maybe a strawberry or peach ice cream with a ribbon of marshmallow.

3. What can't you go a day without?
I find it very hard to go without the internet. I get antsy. And as many people have said, coffee.

4. What position do you sleep in? *back, right side, left side, stomach . . . etc.*
Right side, though I sometime get awake on my back, to snore better, I guess.

5. What is your typical morning routine before work/school?
Bathroom, feed the cats, coffee and internet to see which of my contemporary celebrities have died overnight.

The new cat tower is being used. There is contention and Snow is a bit of a bully. He chases Festis every time she tries to use it. Last night there was an argument and they both fell off as they tried to commit murder on each other.

I moved the older tower in alongside the new one. It’s rather rickety but it provides a view of the back yard where everything is happening. I’m hoping the cats can peacefully coexist if each has a seat at the window.

I play a computer game called “June’s Journey” and about a week ago I started getting a message that there was a ‘security threat’ and it wouldn’t open. Inquieres told me that I wasn’t the only one. It was a new update they did and their website said that they didn’t support Chrome. Well, you have for the last 6/7 years. I don’t know anything about IT but cutting your customer base seems that you’re going in the wrong direction. I miss my game. Once in a survey I did for them I asked if they got their servers at a garage sale. Things have always been chancy with them.

I finished “Agents of Shield”. Whedon is a jerk but he and his family (blood and artistic) turn out good series. I’m going to miss the gang. Coulson is immortal, as it should be.

There is going to be a brief interlude before starting my next set of dvds as I want to rewatch Ghosts (UK) for writing purposes.

I’m getting bored of summer. And there’s still August to get through.

This week's questions were suggested by bindyree.

1. Name five favorite movies.
Laura (Casablanca is, of course,a given), The Avengers, The Bourne Legacy, Paddington 2, The next one I see that surprises me.

2. Name four areas of interest you became interested in after you were done with your formal education.
Travel, history, crocheting, cats

3. Name three things you would change about this world.
Everybody gets fed, everybody goes to school, everybody gets to vote.

4. Name two of your favorite childhood toys.
I was just about books and reading.

5. Name one person you could be handcuffed to for a full day.
I don’t think that would be feasible since I have to go to the bathroom so much.

I noticed the other day that the kitty litter I buy went up three dollars.

The other night I stayed up until dawn watching Agents of Shield season 4. It had alternative reality and they know my sweet spot. I couldn’t stop. But I noticed something about my tv. It was so dark that I couldn’t even see who was hitting who.

I moved my smaller tv in from the living room. I don’t watch in there because the electronics are on the floor until I spring for a table. So I hooked it up and yes, my other tv is dying of creeping dark. Testing it involved sorting out about 5 remotes. And then finding the one I needed on the kitchen counter where I randomly put it down as I was to and froing.

I’m debating buying a new, cheap Roku tv.
