Since they are making more options for how to read entries here, I've started adding feeds here that I've had on my LJ, then removing some of those feeds from LJ, particularly the ones that are not related to someone I know personally.

The feeds I added today are:

[syndicated profile] askgarnet_feed - a chicago friend's blog about sex, sexuality, and gender
[syndicated profile] kukuburi_feed - online weird comic
[syndicated profile] marsphoenixtwitter_feed - feed from mars phoenix lander, may not have any new entries
[syndicated profile] strange_maps_feed - previously created, unusual maps
[syndicated profile] tastyflesh_feed - online comic of strippers and zombies
[syndicated profile] tobaccoavenue_feed - Like The Onion, but for Richmond Va
[syndicated profile] violentacres_feed - a person's blog - well written, but frequently irritating

Dreamwidth Feed FAQs: http://www.dreamwidth.org/support/faqbrowse?faqcat=feeds

and from there:

You can view only your feeds by adding ?show=F to the URL (web address) to your Reading Page, for example:

http://luguvalium.dreamwidth.org/read?show=F.

If you want to exclude feeds but see all other entries, you can add ?show=PC to the URL to your Reading Page:

http://luguvalium.dreamwidth.org/read?show=PC.

Dreamwidth has implemented beta text searching, but only for paid members. Now if there was just more content that I was interested in.

http://dw-news.dreamwidth.org/9221.html

For example, to search the Dreamwidth new community announcement community use: http://www.dreamwidth.org/search?search_user=dw_community_promo

Update: Search is implemented with via http://www.sphinxsearch.com/

So dreamwidth friends, its been about six weeks since DW has been open, but unfortunatly most of the communities I've join don't seem to be active at all.

Which communities have you found to be active and good to join?

Similarly, which feeds have been active and good to join. I've been enjoying [syndicated profile] badastronomy_feed although I wish there were a way to automatically employ cuts in feeds so each entry isn't so long.

I just started my live journal dream width. It seems everyone else I know has one, so why not me.

Hey, where have I seen that before?

If you have come here from Livejournal, or Blogger, or any site which supports OpenID, you may post a comment, even while not having a Dreamwidth account.

1. click "Leave a comment"
2. select "From: OpenID"
3. enter in "Identity URL" the domain of you OpenID. For example if you have an LJ account called "blah" your Identity URL is "blah.livejournal.com"
4. write comment and post normally.
