Last week we attended the 29th EAHM Congress here in Vilnius. Hospital managers and healthcare leaders from across Europe gathered to address one central question: how effective leadership can strengthen healthcare organizations in times of change. Our CEO, Prof. Vladas Algirdas Bumelis delivered a keynote speech on "How leadership drives the growth of biotechnology in Lithuania". Key highlights from the presentation: 🔹Growth built on knowledge. For a nation without vast natural resources, leveraging "movable property" - science and technology - is the only path to creating high added value. 🔹From discovery to impact. "Discoveries belong to science, but impact belongs to leadership." The true role of a leader is to scale laboratory breakthroughs into global solutions. This very commitment to leadership has established our CDMO operations in Lithuania and the US. 🔹Lithuania’s ambition: With an annual growth rate of 25%, life sciences are a national priority, with a government target to contribute 5% of GDP by 2030. The BIO CITY vision: Prof. Bumelis shared our mega-ecosystem roadmap to establish the largest European biotech hub, integrating different modalities, including dedicated centers for protein-based biologics, cell and gene therapies, and large-scale manufacturing capabilities. 📌 "If you want to build a global footprint, you cannot dream quietly.
