some innocent & friendly correspondence
Aug. 2nd, 2018 12:02 pmDelivered late in the evening to Royse's estate by a very distracted runner, who ended up passing some time there afterward.

Thinking of you. I imagine the your good house must be in an uproar; hope you're keeping clear of the worst of it. I'm not so foolish as to think this will prevent the war, as much as I wish otherwise...
I've been changing tack somewhat. I could not avert the war, but maybe its legacy can be ended. There is a better way than four houses warring for the throne. It doesn't lie with our lineage, my friend— it's the people, the lowliest beggar to the very contenders for kingship themselves, who should all decide together. I can't believe I never saw it before now.
It seems Luneste continue to commit to a position of neutrality. I hope your new friends have kept you suitably occupied. Do convey my regards, please, as well as my apologies that I haven't yet been able to offer either of them a tour or my hospitality. I've been avoiding taking meals at home out of sheer necessity; all this talk of war turns my stomach.
I miss you. Please know that as my friend you are always welcome where I live these days, and should you reconsider your place in all this, every resource and ability I have access to is yours to make use of in getting out safely. I fear for all of us right now.
In concern and affection
