Honora has gotten us hooked on Downton Abbey. Toby and I watch it in bed with her. T and I are in Season Two, which she is rewatching with us, while she has embarked - along with the entire United States - on Season Three. So here are the three of us at dinner tonight.

Lookfar: So, Honora, what Crawley sister are you?

Honora: Mom, not all of us are as self-observational as you.

Toby: Okay, Lookfar, which are you? (Thinks: clearly, she wants to be asked).

Lookfar: I identify most with Sybil. With her need to be of service. To be useful. Maybe that's self-congratulatory.

Honora: Everyone wants to be Sybil.

Lookfar: No, I bet some people would rather be the beautiful, glamorous Mary. She's certainly interesting. But when you see how she turns her charm off and on - I don't trust people who can do that.

Honora: So who would Dad be?

Lookfar: Edith. You know, the overlooked, hardworking, resentful one. (general laughter).

Honora: And which sister is Tristan?
