For 20 years, Edina has lived with an invisible disease that began at age 14, limiting mobility & causing chronic pain & inflammation throughout her body. Rather than surrender to her condition, she chose to reclaim agency over her body. Seeking freedom from chronic pain & limitation, she found her path through contortion & circus arts. Through years of disciplined breathwork, meditation, & embodied movement, Edina became a self-taught artist, training herself in flexibility, hand balancing, aerial arts, & hair suspension. Her practice is rooted in patience, precision, & deep listening to the body. Her stage name, SILIKA, is inspired by an element within the Earth’s crust—symbolizing adaptability, strength, + resilience. These qualities guide her work, which blends reverence for nature, movement, + wildlife. Today, Edina supports others as a health & wellness coach + flexibility coach from her Toronto studio, embodying what is possible when persistence meets inspired action.
