I've been quietly hanging out on Tumblr for the past couple of years and moving my art over to A03

This is a fannish journal and very little is friendslocked. I'm more a lurker than anything else, but lately I've tried to be more active, and more sociable. I'm a scientist. I'm not much of a talker. I'm well and truly over the age of 18.

Most of what I post is art. I use Corel Painter X and a fairly basic wacom tablet for my digital painting. I used to do a lot of traditional art, too, with pencil, ink and gouache as my preferred traditional media.

I'm interested in a wide variety of fandoms - usually gaming or TV based. Sometimes I read fanfic - and sometimes I just enjoy the show (or movie, or book ..) Depending on the fandom, and my mood, I like slash, or gen, and sometimes I've been a shipper. I enjoy reading a good meta discussion (though I rarely join in).

Art Use Policy. I'm not proprietary about my artistic ideas. More than likely I've been inspired by someone else. So, if one of my paintings has inspired you to write (fiction, meta, whatever) or to do a similarly themed piece of art - I'm flattered and hope you will let me know, but you don't need to ask permission. If you want to use part of my art as a banner or icon, or in a collage or vid, please ask me first. I'm liable to give permission, though not all my paintings work well at icon size. Please don't repost my paintings anywhere without permission or hotlink. Grabbing a copy for personal use (eg as a desktop) is fine (and again, I'm flattered). My DeviantArt site will often have the option of Blog Access, which should link back to that site and show a thumbnail of the image.
