Most teams building agents have moved past "can we build a demo" to "can we run this in production." We built a joint reference architecture with MongoDB for exactly that: Temporal for durable execution, MongoDB Atlas and Voyage AI for the data and retrieval agents need to work with. Read the blog for the full breakdown and use cases: https://lnkd.in/dsj87-At If you're at BuildFest in San Francisco today, visit our booth and we'll walk you through it live.

What if AI’s biggest bottleneck isn’t the model, but the data it has access to? At MongoDB Build Fest in San Francisco, I looked at why memory, retrieval, and context are becoming such an important part of the AI stack, and how companies like Rivian, Adobe, and Mentra are approaching the problem. As models get better, the infrastructure around them may matter more than ever.

Congratulations to the winners of the Persistent Context Sprint Hackathon at #MongoDBlocal Build Fest! Builders had a few hours on-site to ship AI-native apps where memory, state, context, and retrieval all live on MongoDB, no external vector store or cache required. 🥇1st Place: Amelia – Brendan Giang, David Wu, Jerry Yan, and Boris N. (Team Amelia). Amelia is a live captioning assistant for deaf and hard-of-hearing users that separates speakers into voiceprints and stores each person's identity, conversation history, and commitments directly in MongoDB Atlas, using vector search to retrieve relevant context in real time so every conversation picks up right where it left off.. 🥈 𝟮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲: TraceCase – Jiyun K. and Carl Okpala. TraceCase turns a vague bug report into a reproducible case, asking for the missing details, then recreating the bug across browsers, operating systems, and devices in isolated environments, with MongoDB storing all case context and evidence. If TraceCase finds and verifies a fix, it prepares the GitHub PR itself. 🥉 𝟯𝗿𝗱 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲: Perpetual – Rohan Gandotra and Sharique Khatri. Perpetual logs every agent session to MongoDB Atlas, mines those logs for repeated routines with aggregation pipelines, and compiles them into new skills stored as a vector search collection. A change stream pushes each new skill to every other connected agent instantly, so one agent's experience becomes the whole team's ability. Thank you to everyone who built and demoed, and to our partners, Cerebral Valley, for helping make the hackathon possible.

"Once you have a system that can run for a month at a time, I think our relationship with computing will change pretty fast," said Jason Liu, Developer Experience Engineer at OpenAI. "Your job is to understand what success looks like and give your models superior access to the data they need to get the job done." Liu joined MongoDB CTO, Jim Scharf, for a conversation on building production-grade AI agents. #MongoDBlocal

"Too many organizations are running AI in production with an operational database, a vector store, a search engine, and embedding and reranking models, all from different vendors, bolted together instead of built for it. Now agents raise the bar," said MongoDB CTO Jim Scharf, at #MongoDBLocal Build Fest. "MongoDB was built as an operational platform from the start, so retrieval and memory run on the same live data, nothing to sync, and agents act on what's happening instantly."

Your data, everywhere you build. 🧑💻 At #MongoDBlocal Build Fest, we're bringing the power of MongoDB Atlas into the tools you already use. Ask questions of data in plain language in ChatGPT, Claude, and Grok. Query, inspect, and update data in MongoDB as work happens, with coding agents like Claude Code, Codex, Grok Build and Devin. See live MongoDB data while generating an app in an IDE like Cursor. It’s just one click to connect. No infrastructure to configure. Same data, where you already work with zero setup required. https://lnkd.in/ef7MuK9N

Code embedding models are benchmarked on single-query, static-corpus search — not how coding agents actually retrieve code. 📢 Introducing voyage-code-4: trained on retrieval patterns from issue-fixing pull requests mined from open source repos. • Outperforms Cohere Embed v4 and Gemini Embedding 2 by an average of 28.25% and 31.03% on agentic code retrieval • 32K context • Flexible dimensions (256d/512d/1024d/2048d), quantization-aware training Get started with voyage-code-4: https://lnkd.in/e2h9x_uG
