The faces behind RubyConf Africa 2026. Months ago, this was a shared spreadsheet and a long list of "what ifs." Today, it's a confirmed lineup of keynote speakers, sponsors on board, a venue locked in, and a team that's shown up for every late-night planning call to make it happen. This team has poured genuine care into every detail — from the speaker lineup to the smallest touches attendees will experience on the day. 2 weeks out, and honestly? We can't wait for you to see what we've built. Get your ticket and be part of it. Aug 21-22, Sarit Expo. #RubyConfAfrica2026

This is one talk that programmers shouldn't miss, especially those just starting their programming journey. See you at RubyConf Africa!
Our first Keynote is here!!! Welcome Masafumi Okura to the RubyConf Africa stage! 🇯🇵➡️🇰🇪 Masafumi is a Ruby and Rails developer based in Tokyo, Founder of Kaigi on Rails, creator of Alba, open-source maintainer, international speaker, and passionate community builder. Keynote: Ruby for complete beginners New to Ruby? New to programming? Curious, or afraid? Or, worried that Al takes everything from us? In 2026, we are all beginners in a way. Yes, so many things have changed over the past few years, or maybe months. But I also believe that there are so many things remaining unchanged. Actually they are even more important than before. One of those things is fundamentals of programming. Let's imagine these questions: what problems are we trying to solve with programming? How can everything work together? Why do we need classes or those abstractions? And finally, what is programming? And here we have Ruby, a beautiful programming language which is friendly to humans, machines and even with AI! With Ruby, we will have a brighter look at those fundamentals. Let's dive in! 🎟️ Grab your ticket to RubyConf Africa 2026 before sales close on August 7

Yes! I’m very honored to be a keynote speaker at RubyConf Africa. In this talk, I’m going to cover the very fundamental question — what is programming? Personally I’ve considered it in the past few years, and it’s great to be able to share a portion of my answer with you. See you in Nairobi😆

We've saved something special for last. Please join us in welcoming Sanmi Amos as a Keynote Speaker at RubyConf Africa 2026. Known to many as Amospikins – the Tech Prophet, Sanmi is a software engineer, educator, cybersecurity advocate, and community builder dedicated to empowering the next generation of African developers. Through NaijaCodePadi and Digihub Tech Solutions, he has helped thousands of developers grow beyond writing code to building impactful careers. 🎤 Keynote: Beyond Code: Engineering the Future – Where African Software Engineering Must Go Africa's next chapter won't be written by those who simply use technology; it will be written by those who build it. In this keynote, Sanmi challenges us to think beyond frameworks and programming languages and asks a bigger question: What will it take for Africa to build software the world trusts? Expect an inspiring conversation on engineering excellence, resilient systems, cybersecurity, open source, and the role African developers will play in shaping the future of technology. This isn't just a keynote. It's a conversation about the future of African software engineering. 🎟️ Join us this August and be part of it.
