Yesterday's LJ post

On the way to the final walk-through yesterday, I got in an accident. While driving my MIL's Lexus. Thankfully, it was not my fault. And no one was hurt, and the girls weren't in the car. it could have been so much worse, and while it was happening my slow-motion brain thought, "This might be really bad."
We have the closing this afternoon and got the Clear to Close yesterday, so hopefully things will go smoothly enough. What an awful process this is, and I know a number of you have bought houses recently and can relate to this pain in the neck. Still, Ken and I are excited. I have seven cans of paint and a new area rug in the car that I plan on taking to the house after closing if there is time. Also, a flooring guy is supposed to meet me there to take at look at refinishing the wood floors.

dowen and the_commasplice and their families are coming for a visit beginning tomorrow afternoon. We are all so excited to see them. Ken has stocked the fridge with beer and juice boxes; I'm working on a large and clean supply of beach towels; Adeline can't wait to show her friends her new nightgown - she thinks she's fancy. :) Hurry, y'all!
