Hi! I'm new to this community, here from a [personal profile] sixbeforelunch post. I've been using planners on and off for many years now, the main difference year to year being whether I found a planner I could afford and liked enough, because I'm shallow as hell. Having an actual planner works much better for me than setting up weekly spreads; I still get the Monday ritual of decorating the week's pages, but I don't have to fuck around with a ruler (for the most part).

Last year I found and began using a weekly spread planner from Kokonote, and got really into stickers.

This year I swapped to a page-a-day model, and I'm still learning what does and doesn't work for me in terms of decoration. Each page has a checklist on the side and a portion that's dotted. This is what I've done so far:

EDIT to say two things: most of my stickers are from TEDi, who have a veritable fucking mess of a corner that I often just crouch and make my way through trying to drop as few things as possible off their hooks; and I am also on Finch, if anyone else uses that? It's been a really nice companion to the planner this year. My friend code is LWQMXDV9J56. I think you get a ghostie micropet if you sign up and tell them I sent you, and I get app currency or something I think.

I'm back.

As part of spending a chunk of last year reconsidering how I use technology and shifting parts of my life back to analog, I decided to start a paper reading journal. Figured I'd show it off here in case anyone is interested.

I don't know how interesting this will be to people other than me. I'm not the most artistic or creative person, not by a long shot, but I've decided to share my current primary planner anyway. This set up served me really well last year. This year I've made a few minor improvements, and it's possible that some of these ideas will be useful to other people.

The journal I'm using is the Panobook from Studio Neat. I love the wide landscape layout and the dot grid, and I can vouch for the quality of the paper. I use cheap ballpoint pens (I might experiment with fountain pens at some point, but I haven't yet), and also cheap markers. Neither bleed through these pages. The cover is sturdy, and the spiral binding is resilient. It's 50 sheets, 100 total pages long, which is enough for the entire year and then some. I stay on one side of the page, and then when I get to the end, I flip it over and start writing on the reverse side, so the spiral is always on the left side as I use the notebook. You could obviously just use both sides of the page as you go, but I found this works better for me. (If you're a lefty, in theory you could do the opposite and keep the spiral on the right as you go. The pages have no set orientation.)

My Agendio Planner had arrived! Due to the custom nature of the Planner, I was able to get one to finish out the year from June to December.

I am in love already. The cover is lovely. The paper is smooth (went with the medium weight). And it looks exactly as I designed it, including the custom events (like birthdays and anniversaries).

I can not wait to start using it in two weeks. It cost much more than a typical Planner but I can already tell it's worth it to get an interior that is *exactly* what I wanted.

And best of all, if anything doesn't work, I can edit it in their app and have it fixed for next year. :D

Posted a bunch of photos of my journal for the first three months of the year here! I've mostly been using it for personal media reviews because I read so many webtoons I can't keep track of them. ^^;

I'm using an A5 Laconic planner... Thinking of switching it up next year because I've been using the layout for 2 years and I'm not sure if it's still right for me haha.

In 2024, I decided to start reading published books again, instead of long-form fanfic downloaded from AO3, because I needed more of a challenging read than fanfic provides. To stay motivated for 2025, I'm participating in a Book Bingo challenge. All of the above led me to decide that I want to start a journal dedicated to my reading.

And I don't want anything digital, otherwise, my Goodreads list would be adequate.

I've looked at some that people have posted here, and trying to figure out what I want to do. I think I want a bigger size that my A5 bullet journal, and I think I want to do less hand-drawn art that what I put in my bujo. Maybe more scrapbook-y and less time-consuming. I definitely want to do something like print out the book covers on sticker paper.

What type of information do you include? How do you sequence the books? Do you have a daily reading log or something similar?

Hi all! I'm here with my first reading journal update :D

I've posted on my journal about the experience with the reading journal throughout January. Included are pictures of my January stats page and progress pictures of my personal and community reading challenges.

I have a fauxdori which came with these neat little things that so far I've only used to store my pens and some business cards. I don't use the card holders for real cards because sometimes I go out without and when I do it's usually a situation where I need the cards (say, a quick stop at the supermarket).

I'm just curious what people use or want to use them for, if your notebooks have them or you're planning on getting them.

Having offered journals and planners to buy or to print at home, it seems useful to cover related supplies. This post covers pens, markers, pencils, inks, and a few extras. Understand that the physical experience of writing is a big appeal with recordkeeping on paper, so pay attention to the handfeel of what you use. Also, many people in this activity are highly visual, with an interest in color-coding and/or using a set of symbols to store information. For this reason, they often want multiple colors. Another reason for variety is when you do different things in your journal -- writing, drawing, filling in areas of color, etc. A good handwriting pen may not excel at coloring in spaces and vice versa, so you might need different ones for each task.

Hi all! I've decided to keep a reading journal this year (my first time doing it!) and I posted some thoughts about and pictures of my setup at my dw journal. I've also made sure to include credit to all of the journaling peeps who inspired me during this process <3

I'm using an A5 dot grid notebook from Babadorky (Brazilian artist), a mix of black Faber Castell Xtreme Fine 0.7 and 1.0mm pens, and all of the pastel color highlighters and brush pens I had around.

Note: no photos cause I can't figuer out imgur besides icons :(

I wanted to start writing stuff down more on actual paper cause I like how it feels. I know I can't for the life of me keep stuff to one topic, so the notebook I bought will be used to dot down general ideas for creative projects & similar topics (basically give myself the freedom to both write down incoherant thoughts & doodle in it & stuff).

I bought a notebook, some stickers & washi-tape (I actually wanted stickers for my diary, but also I just like stickers). I'm gonna start brainstorming on some ideas in my head & see if I can make this journal something fun for me to look at ^_^

Here is a post listing materials for 2025. They aren't things I make or sell, just a selection of popular options for people who prefer bound, premade items to printables or refillables.

My recordkeeping is plain and boring compared to the artistic stuff that some folks do, but it works for me.  I counted 17 past years of this on my blog, this is the 18th.  Before that it was just the desktop version.

I finished my 2024 in Review post. Out of 61 goals and one blank, I met 58 plus five extra fill in the blanks. I did quite well, better than last year. \o/ Among my discoveries was that I really like seasonal goals -- those worked great for me, so I'm doing them again.

I finished making my Goals for 2025 list. That basic online list is where I track things I want to do, and mark them MET when completed. I'm off to a good start, since we hung the 2025 wall calendars today and the Community Calendar 2025 for [community profile] allbingo is done and put in the links list. \o/

I also keep a desktop calendar. Since I write for the Llewellyn annuals, I typically get the Witches' Datebook free, so this is my desktop for 2025. I like it because it's spiralbound so it lies flat, and it has the weekdays on one page with the weekend on the facing page. Then there's something above the weekend -- artwork, a recipe, a craft, etc. This is where I write advance plans for things like recurring posts in my blog, events I want to catch, and so on.

Hello, everyone! The TLDR before I start: I would like recommendations for an undated planner with daily pages. I'm not familiar with a lot of planner brands and types, and I'm not entirely satisifed with the CleverFox planner I'm trying at the moment.

More details about the situation along with photos of what I'm using at the moment below:

I welcome any recommendations you may have! :D

[community profile] goals_on_dw has a series of resource posts about bullet journals:

Bullet Journal Printables by Topic -- things you can print out and add to your journal or planner, on a wide variety of subjects. Most of these are layouts for specific types of pages, but there are some versatile ones too.

Bullet Journal Printables by Page Size -- a huge collection of links to things you can print out, designed for a wide range of journal sizes. Some friends have mentioned not being able to find printables for their preferred journal size, so I hunted down everything I could find from large to tiny. Some of these are layouts for specific types of pages, but there's also a very large amount of material for printing dot grids, graph paper, lined paper, and other background material.

Bullet Journal Ideas -- things for you to draw in your own journal.  Some of these are layouts for specific types of pages, others more general, plus a section on how to draw doodles / icons.  They cover a variety of topics, but not all the same ones as the topical post has.

For more, see the Masterlist of Printables which has things like whole calendars or planners that you can run off at home.

Would anyone here like to post about bullet journals at [community profile] goals_on_dw some time?  Links are useful, but an actual post by someone familiar with the craft would be better.  If you've already got a post on that topic, crossposting is welcome.

Could we get a style: bullet journal tag?  I've seen people talk about them here, I think this may be where I originally found the style, so I was surprised there wasn't a tag for that already.

Hi everyone! I got into physical journaling (and stickers!) pretty recently and am very excited to find this comm!

I like using my journal to document what I'm reading/watching and to log my language learning when I encounter new vocabulary, but I'm often too lazy to sit down and update it...

Here are some assorted pages from my journal (currently using a Laconic planner) so far! Images are mostly hotlinked from my Bluesky account because I'm lazy, so I hope they display fine!
