Hi! It's been a while, right? I was, like, has it really been a year and a half since I posted?

Yes. Yes it has. Wow.

So, in news. I have a second niece! She's turning one in a few days, and is every bit as adorable as my first niece. I love them to bits and pieces. <3 I am often called on to babysit for both of them, and I love it!

Fannish-wise, I, like so much of the rest of the country, was bitten by the Hamilton-bug. Which is why I spent the last week in Chicago. Where I watched the musical. It was awesome. When I first decided to do it, my mom was all, "but the ticket is so expensive, is it worth it?" and I told her, "it is to me, plus, I can afford it. And if I don't do it, I know I'll regret it." So I did it! And, yes, totally worth it. Karen Olivo's "Satisfied" would have been worth the price of admission alone, almost a week later and I'm still starry-eyed over it gosh!

Everyone was so good! I went on Tuesday, and then on Thursday night, I realized that I hadn't done the stage door after the show. Since my hotel was just down the street, I ran over right before the show ended and got a place near the front (though the line really wasn't that long) to get my program signed.

I'm keeping an eye on when SF and LA tickets go on sale, because, hell, those two places are way easier and cheaper for me to do than go to Chicago to watch it again, especially since I have family in both places that I could stay with if need be. Because it's not coming to Vegas until 2018, and I really, really want to watch it again!

Oh my god, you guys. I am so into Daredevil right now. I binged on it all weekend and I just.

Ugh. My brother is laughing so hard at me now, because he's tried for years and years to convince me how great DD is. And I had to text him last night and tell him that it was the hardest thing for me to admit, but Daredevil is awesome. And he laughed and said that he has been waiting for this day.

Charlie Cox has always been good looking (lol, circa Stardust, he was my mental image of a young Remus Lupin), but man, I am so attracted to his Matt Murdock. He hurts so pretty. Matt has catapulted himself to the top of my favorite MCU character list, and number 1 had been Steve since TFA came out. Guys, I have spoken and spoken many times irl why Steve is so awesome, and no other MCU character has come close to my love for him, but Matt overtook him in a weekend.

I know AKA Jessica Jones and Luke Cage and Iron Fist and the Defenders have yet to come out, but I need season 2!

El grande avocados!

I didn't expect the emotion that washed over me when I found out Leonard Nimoy had died earlier today. I had to keep from crying at my desk at work, and had to go to the bathroom for a moment to myself. And I had dinner with my brother earlier, and he said that it was the same for him, except that instead of going to the bathroom, he had to step outside.

It's strange, being so upset over the death of someone I never even met, but growing up, there was Star Trek and there was Mission: Impossible, and those were pretty much the two most important tv shows of my childhood. He's someone who I've just always known was there, who played one of my favorite characters in any medium ever, so there it is.

I started a rewatch of TOS last night, but now, I don't know if I can continue on for a while, because I just know I'm going to cry.

RIP, Leonard Nimoy.

jeanne: (omg eight!)
So, if anyone out there was interested in trying out Big Finish Doctor Who, they have the entire Eighth Doctor Adventures line on sale this weekend! Eight! Lucie!

Also, the first series of Dark Eyes is on sale as well! Since, oh, mid-summerish? I have been on a listen to ALL the Big Finish kick. (Well, okay, not all, but all the audios that have accumulated since my last Big Finish binge. Which is a lot.) There have been some awesome, awesome audios, let me tell you, but my greatest love is for the Dark Eyes series. And I have talked lots about Dark Eyes on my Tumblr but eff it, I am going to talk about it here too because my love for it cannot be confined to one platform.

Stuff on Dark Eyes! )

Not checking the Big Finish website before leaving for work, because now Dark Eyes 3 in my account will be taunting me with my inability to download it until I get home later today.

Ugh, I need the Eighth Doctor and Molly and Liv and the Master and Narvin so badly!

The worst thing about Gotham is wanting Bruce to grow up into a well-adjusted young man and knowing that it will never happen.
jeanne: (romana take two)
So, for various reasons, I have just now finished listening to Gallifrey series 6. (I will admit, Narvin being in Dark Eyes 3, and Gallifrey 7 coming out in February (with AAAAACE!) had a lot to do with this.)

Yeah, okay, I just about died.

Some things about Gallifrey Series 6. )

(Trying this again, my first attempt went horrible wrong...)

I was out of town for the weekend, so have only got around to watching the first episode.

I rather like Twelve so far. )

I have never shipped Steve/Bucky until today. Oh my god.
jeanne: (fantastic)
On the whole, I rather enjoyed it. There were parts where I rolled my eyes and went, "Of course Moffat wrote this" because there are some beats that he is very much in love with, but, along with The Night of the Doctor, it's nice to know that he can still write a story I can enjoy for the most part

More spoiler-y stuff. )
