With his own death rapidly approaching, Itachi was on his way to battle Sasuke for the final time when he found himself pulled into the strange world of Michi no Sato. The strange village became a place of second chances for the guilt-ridden Uchiha. He found his resurrected family. He met multiple Sasukes (including one who had never witnessed the massacre) to love and protect with all his heart. He had a new-found reason to live... for however long that might be... Illness left his body weak, thin and brittle. The treatments left him immunocompromised and just plain sick. He is almost blind, often bedridden, and sometimes confined to a wheelchair or oxygen tank. Guilt ravaged his mind until he unleashed the crow with Shisui's eye, casting the kotoamatsukami on himself in a radical suicide attempt. However, its command, 'Relax and seek happiness' saved him from himself, and gives him the strength to endure his failing health. It does, however, have the side effect of causing him to faint in situations that become emotionally overwhelming. He considers himself a retired shinobi, even more so now that he and the littlest Sasuke found themselves in a new world. Moon Island has fewer shinobi, but thanks to an edo tensei Madara, far more problems than Michi no Sato ever did. Greater advances in technology offered new treatment options for his condition. While the weekly sessions are debilitating, the rest of the time, he feels well enough to manage all the simple pleasures in life - like eating without throwing up, exercising to build up strength and spending time with the family that has appeared here too. | ||

A genius among shinobi, Itachi excels at ninjutsu, taijutsu and especially genjutsu. However, he is also a pacifist, with the peace and stability of Konohagakure firmly on his mind. Itachi graduated from the Academy (thus marking his passage into adulthood) at the age of 7. By age 12, he had attained the rank of Captain in the ANBU Black Ops. His bright future, however, ended with the Uchiha Massacre. Following orders, he killed his entire clan, minus his younger brother, Sasuke, and then fled the village. He aligned himself with the Akatsuki, continuing to protect his village in secret. Unfortunately, Itachi's life was tragically cut short by a devastating disease. At the age of 21, he finally allowed himself to die at Sasuke's feet. | ||
