However, what we mean by "wallet" differs significantly by region. 🔸 In card-centric economies like North America and the UK, digital wallets—such as Apple Pay and Google Wallet—introduce security and convenience layers at checkout but maintain the baseline settlement mechanics and interchange economics of legacy international card networks. 🔸 In regions with lower card penetration, such as Asia-Pacific and Latin America, platforms like Alipay in China, GCash in the Philippines, or Mercado Pago in Latin America operate as self-contained financial systems. These networks frequently bypass card rails entirely by settling directly through real-time account-to-account (A2A) networks or direct bank transfers. 🔸 It will be crucial to see the future trajectory of the European landscape. While highly integrated national card and banking networks historically operated in isolation, this dynamic is changing due to a recent regulatory push and new payment initiatives. Most notably, the European Payments Initiative is scaling #Wero, a regional digital wallet designed to process transactions over SEPA instant banking rails. The future of global commerce will not settle on a single, standardized transaction path. I couldn't be more excited! ❤️ ⭐ August marks 18 years for me at 𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘂𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗲 (formerly 2buy1click) - and this year is our best ever! 🚀 ⭐ We are onboarding 𝗙𝗢𝗨𝗥 new team members this week! 🙌 ⭐ We have a number of exciting 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗕𝟮𝗕 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 and clients! 🔥 ⭐ And biggest of all...after 10 months of hardly being able to get out of bed, 𝗺𝘆 𝗱𝗮𝗱 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘄𝗮𝗹𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗼𝗻 𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝘄𝗻!! ❤️ Sometimes everything seems to happen at once. Ma essere preparati all’imprevisto è un’altra cosa. In questi giorni l’Etna si sta facendo sentire ancora una volta. La cenere vulcanica condiziona l’operatività dell’aeroporto di Catania, i voli vengono cancellati o dirottati e centinaia di persone si ritrovano a dover ripensare, spesso in poche ore, il proprio viaggio. Un vulcano non si può controllare. La gestione delle sue conseguenze, però, può essere pianificata. Ed è qui che credo che tecnologia e innovazione debbano dimostrare il loro valore. Informazioni realmente aggiornate, comunicazioni immediate ai passeggeri, alternative di trasporto già coordinate, collegamenti con altri aeroporti, riprotezioni, mobilità terrestre e servizi digitali dovrebbero essere parti di un unico piano di emergenza. Un vero Piano B, strutturato prima che l’emergenza si verifichi. Perché una città smart non è soltanto una città che digitalizza i propri servizi quando tutto funziona. È una città capace di utilizzare dati, tecnologia e infrastrutture per reagire meglio quando la normalità si interrompe. E c’è anche un altro aspetto che, da siciliana, considero importante. Vedere persone bloccate per ore in aeroporto, disorientate e senza sapere come proseguire il proprio viaggio non restituisce l’immagine di quella terra accogliente che la Sicilia vuole e merita di essere. Soprattutto ad agosto, quando migliaia di persone scelgono la nostra isola per trascorrere qui le proprie vacanze. L’Etna fa parte della Sicilia. La sua fascinosa imprevedibilità anche. Proprio per questo, forse, l’emergenza non dovrebbe più essere completamente imprevista. La tecnologia non può fermare un vulcano. Può però aiutarci a essere molto più preparati quando decide di ricordarci della sua imponenza. So here we go 😉 "Hemester" comes from hem (home) and semester (vacation), giving us a "homecation"/staycation but not in the sad, stuck-at-home sense. Four years ago I moved to Stockholm, and I have to admit: my love for this city hasn't faded, it's actually grown. Especially this year, when I started exploring the southern part of the Stockholm archipelago after moving further south in the city. And I came to a very specific conclusion: Why would I book a flight to a southern European island when Sweden looks like this? 😄 As "coolcation" becomes more than just a trend (meaning travel to cooler destinations to escape European heatwaves), the Stockholm archipelago is genuinely a dream option. And it's not just me saying it, as National Geographic listed in 2025 the Stockholm archipelago among the 25 best places in the world to visit. 💡 Look at the photos and tell me: is this what you picture when you think of Sweden? 🌊 If not, it should be! For me, these islands are the perfect hemester but if you're not from here, consider this my personal recommendation for next year, or a spontaneous trip while hot August is still in Europe. ☀️

The demand is there: 100% of US drivers surveyed in Parkopedia's 2025 In-Car Payments UX Report said they highly value easy-to-use in-car payment functionality. 70% would pay more upfront for a vehicle that has it. Now, drivers can find and pay for parking without leaving their car's interface. ParkMobile has always been about removing friction from the parking experience. Il mercato sembra rispondere: il 55% dei titoli in portafoglio registra una performance positiva, con una media del 7,21% e punte superiori al 10% su alcuni nomi. Un segnale che rafforza la view alla base di PMI2Change, l’iniziativa promossa da Banca Generali insieme a Intermonte: il vero limite delle PMI italiane non è la qualità delle imprese, ma la loro visibilità sul mercato dei capitali. L’obiettivo è innescare un circolo virtuoso: maggiore visibilità genera maggiore domanda, che sostiene liquidità e capitalizzazione, contribuendo a ridurre lo sconto valutativo che ancora penalizza le PMI italiane e ad attirare l’interesse degli investitori istituzionali. Passeggiando per Madrid mi sono resa conto che, forse, la risposta non dipende dalla quantità di tecnologia presente. Ma da quanto quella tecnologia riesca a semplificare la vita delle persone. Una delle cose che mi ha colpito è stata la possibilità di utilizzare un unico titolo di viaggio digitale per combinare autobus e biciclette pubbliche. Un dettaglio, forse. Ma è proprio nei dettagli che, spesso, si misura la qualità di un sistema. L’innovazione più efficace non è quella che si nota di più. È quella che elimina un passaggio, riduce un dubbio, rende naturale un gesto. Quella che lavora in silenzio. Da professionista della mobilità, è questo il tipo di innovazione che mi incuriosisce di più. Quella che non chiede alle persone di adattarsi alla tecnologia. È la tecnologia che si adatta alle abitudini e alle esigenze delle persone. Forse una città è davvero smart quando smettiamo di parlare di tecnologia e iniziamo a parlare di esperienza. Perché le soluzioni migliori sono quelle che quasi non si vedono. Ma che, una volta provate, rendono difficile immaginare di farne a meno.

Klarna partners with PagoPA S.p.A. to enable installment payments for Italian public services #Klarna has formed a partnership with #PagoPA, the public company that manages Italy’s national digital #payments platform for the Public Administration, supported by Worldpay’s payment infrastructure. The integration will allow citizens to use Klarna to pay for public services such as vehicle tax, fines, school fees and healthcare tickets directly from their smartphones. Users will have the option to pay in a single transaction or split payments into three interest-free installments, with additional financing plans ranging from six to twelve months for higher-value amounts. The agreement extends Klarna’s footprint in Italy beyond ecommerce, enabling the company to enter the digital public services segment as part of a broader strategy to simplify access to essential services through flexible and digitized payment methods. Luigi Traldi, Klarna’s Head for Southern Europe, stated that the initiative aligns with the firm’s mission to enhance everyday financial experiences for millions of Italians. The collaboration with PagoPA is also part of Klarna and Worldpay’s wider international partnership, aiming to expand digital payment solutions across Worldpay’s global network.
