If they ever go back
They will not be the same
They’ve changed to abide
By the rules of my game
There is no home for the traveling soul
Time in limbo takes it’s toll
They’ve been immersed in my darkness
And stared light in the eye
My puppets can dance
But they lack the souls to fly
My mountains are high, my rivers run deep
With the universe’s magical life-giving ink
From paper worlds to keyboards, they’ve managed to live
Now blessed with the chances no others would give
They’re forever trapped in cages
No old homes to be seen
But in reality, you know
They’ve never been more free
