  • YSR Kadapa district is transforming school meal delivery through the SMART Kitchen Initiative, combining technology, modern infrastructure, efficient logistics, sustainability, and community participation under the Aspirational Districts and Aspirational Blocks Programmes. Across the district, 38 SMART Kitchens now serve nearly 1 lakh children every day through 105 optimised routes and 95 dedicated delivery vehicles, ensuring timely and reliable delivery of nutritious meals. The initiative integrates centralised mechanised cooking, standardised food-safety protocols, GPS-enabled transportation, real-time monitoring dashboards, and QR-based feedback systems, making the process more transparent, traceable, and accountable. Sustainability is embedded in the model through solar energy, electric mobility, energy-efficient systems, and bio-digester-based waste management, while women-led Self Help Groups continue to play a vital role in community participation and local ownership. The SMART Kitchen Initiative demonstrates how convergence, technology, and community engagement can transform an everyday public service into a more efficient, sustainable, and people-centric system—advancing better nutrition and brighter futures for children. #SMARTKitchens #SchoolNutrition Narendra Modi | Rao Inderjit Singh | Ashok Lahiri

Chaired the High-Level Expert Roundtable on Geological Carbon Storage at Indian National Science Academy - INSA, with Prof. Shekhar Mande, President, INSA; Prof. Umesh V. Waghmare, Secretary, India DST; Dr. Ranjit Rath, CMD, Oil India Limited / ऑयल इंडिया लिमिटेड; Dr. Virendra M. Tiwari, Vice President, INSA, along with experts and senior representatives from the Ministry of Power, CSIR India, India, academia and industry. The roundtable focused on the potential of geological storage as a key component of India’s Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage (CCUS) strategy. India has significant geological potential for storing CO₂, including in deep saline aquifers and basalt formations. The key challenge is to translate this potential into safe, reliable and cost-effective storage solutions through a source-to-sink approach supported by field evidence and demonstration projects. The discussions highlighted the importance of sustained R&D, pilot projects and an enabling policy and regulatory framework to build confidence for large-scale deployment. Developing a credible pathway from estimated potential to proven storage capacity will be critical for unlocking the role of geological carbon storage in India’s energy transition. #CCUS #CarbonStorage NITI Aayog
