From research labs to industrial floors, #innovation takes many forms. In Chennai, Deputy Head of Mission Sonja Isella experienced this first-hand in two different settings. At Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, one of India’s leading technology and research institutions, she met Prof Shanthi Pavan, Dean Academic Research, and faculty, and explored how ideas move from academia towards real-world impact at the IIT Madras Research Park (IITMRP), India’s first university-based research park. 🔬 Here, the Switzerland–IIT Madras connection is already producing solutions with global potential, including LC3, a low-carbon cement technology. Swiss organisations such as EH GROUP and The Hashgraph Association are also contributing to the Park’s ecosystem. Later, at Leister, the focus shifted from research to industry. At its Chennai facility, the 🇨🇭 company’s team showcased technologies spanning plastic welding, laser technology and industrial processes, offering a glimpse into the precision and expertise behind Swiss engineering.
