So the goal was to read 2 books during December.

Up till now, I have read 2, both for my career. I am however participating in fred_mouse's challenge for this week at readingtogether and hope to make much progress in a third book which has been languishing for about a week now.

IMB Watson Personality Insights, where you can input text of at leat 100 words and it does a personality analysis.

I have not checked on teh science side of this but it sure is fun. :D

Detailed write-up of various scenarios with (at one point) locked posts. Conclusion: sometimes, pingback "catches" posts that are locked, if you changed the security level. This seems to vary, it was more problematic earlier when helen78 started the testing and has improved since. Still, if you want to be sure, best disable the pingback in the privacy settings.

Client: “We want every single upper case letter removed from the site and replaced with all lower case.”

Me: “Okay, that’s a lot of work. There are dozens, probably hundreds of instances of upper case letters on the site. Unfortunately, we’ll have to bill you for this.”

Client: “That’s fine.”

Me: “Can I ask why you only want lower case lettering?”

Client: “Because it’s cooler. Oh, and we want to make it a policy for the site — users are not allowed to use upper case letters either.”

If you're only interested in writing about peen, go ahead, and work out how you feel about that with yourself. But please stop pretending you're doing this all for the ladies. You're not fooling anyone, except maybe yourself, and to the rest of us, it's just insulting.

My additions re only writing about the dicks on the dancefloor: If that's what you want in fandom, sure, it's fine, it's fun, we all have our own interests. But don't pretend it's ~for feminism~, for goodness's sake!

Reasons why I love fandom:

♥ sesh_kem prompted "art nouveau" on Ship Wars. Genius prompt. *seal clapping noises of glee* It resulted in at least two fanworks to date:

Beneath Midnight Stars by lemonrocket. The artist says it didn't come out enough art nouveau for her liking and my admittedly art history-clueless self tends to agree but regardless of that, this is still something I would love to see as a wall painting. Gorgeous moment and gorgeous framing.

You've probably all seen the second one already... Art Deco style Spock/Uhura by lymanalpha. They are so glamorous! Dramatic colour and lighting choices and you've got to admire their attitudes in this painting. Spock in a suit, shit, son, give me a piece of that!

♥ Spock-McCoy huggling for warmth by knp01, who you might remember from the recent pink tentacle drawing. A very sweet scene. [and yes, I'm totally linking you to the entry and not to the second cut tag so that you may see the tentacle hair in the first sketch :P]

♥ cannedebonbon's K/S with tentacle peen! Very NWS, obviously. Go take a look, shiny green tentacles, you know you want to! XD And see, thisissirius wrote a story to go with it.


And now for a tamer link: Andrea Joseph's drawing blog. Non-fannish, she draws mundane objects, lots of mail and ephemera-related stuff. I am wildly in love with her crazy detailed ballpoint drawings. :D
