Symposium Overview

The IEEE International Symposium on Emerging Metaverse (ISEMV 2026), sponsored by the IEEE Metaverse Initiative, aims to advance research, dialogue, and collaboration at the intersection of the physical and digital worlds. As we collectively embark on a journey to understand, realize, and shape the Metaverse, ISEMV provides a platform for researchers, practitioners, and industry leaders to explore emerging technologies and their transformative impact.

Together, we aim to chart a course toward a resilient and technologically enriched future, ensuring sustainable growth, responsible innovation, and broad adoption of the Metaverse ecosystem.

The theme for ISEMV 2026 is “Metaverse for Humanity: Intelligent Virtual Worlds for Industry, Health, and Society.” The Metaverse is rapidly transforming businesses and delivering tangible benefits across industries such as manufacturing, healthcare, aerospace, and automotive, while simultaneously reshaping commerce, education, entertainment, and social interaction. By advancing immersive technologies and redefining how digital systems mediate human experiences, the Metaverse is creating new opportunities for innovation, collaboration, and value creation across the global economy.

ISEMV 2026 will be located in Cyprus and will take place from 22-24 October at the University of Central Lancashire, Cyprus (UCLAN Cyprus) in Pyla, Larnaka district. In light of current uncertainties in the wider region that may affect travel, ISEMV 2026 will accommodate hybrid presentation and participation options for accepted papers, ensuring continuity, inclusiveness, and broad international engagement.

Call for Papers

ISEMV 2026 invites submission of original and innovative research in the field of the Metaverse. We welcome contributions that advance the state of the art in technologies and applications that bridge the physical and digital worlds, enhance user interactions and immersive experiences, and push the boundaries of metaverse systems, platforms, and applications.

Call for Abstracts for Oral Presentation

In addition to full research papers, ISEMV 2026 also invites submissions for presentations on emerging ideas, tools, and applications in Metaverse research. These sessions provide an opportunity to share innovative concepts, practical implementations, and early-stage work with a broader community.

Accepted abstract presentations delivered at ISEMV 2026 will be submitted for inclusion into IEEE Xplore®, subject to meeting IEEE Xplore’s scope and quality requirements.
