He was the young son of the king of the realm, a prince destined to inherit when his father was slaughtered and his throne stolen. For years, the boy prince lived in hiding and joined Gabriel Van Helsing as a soldier in the ill-fated rebellion that claimed many lives, including that of his only son. Turned in battle, he was entrusted with raising the boy who would become one of Dracula's first 'children,' made not simply to serve but given the gift of immortality for her personal entertainment.

Though Danton has long since earned the trust of his mistress, he remains bitter about his nature, and serves only because he is compelled, forced to love the woman who made him against his will. Time has tempered some of his hatred, given his freedom and his secret love of the power he has with his supernatural nature, but he is no less full of regret. His only joys in life now are the hunt, the debauchery that runs rampant in Castle Dracula...and the affections of Dracula's favorite bride, for whom he harbors a secret love he can never allow his mistress to discover.
