During a period of extreme volatility driven by geopolitical conflict and economic uncertainty, Asia’s capital markets have proved remarkably resilient. That was a clear takeaway from the OECD–ADBI Roundtable on Capital Market and Financial Reform in Asia, which took place in Tokyo last week. ASIFMA’s CEO, Peter Stein, joined the panel for the launch of the OECD’s Asia Capital Markets Report 2026, sharing industry perspectives on how markets are navigating the current challenges while continuing to support growth across the region. As Peter noted, in a time of geopolitical upheaval and increased competition for investment, attracting more global capital flows requires reducing market frictions, improving efficiency and letting investors do more with the securities they trade. Our congratulations to the OECD on an insightful and timely report, and on both the OECD and the ADBI for hosting a successful roundtable. #ASIFMA #OECD #ADBI #CapitalMarkets #AsiaFinance
