Hibiscus Tea

Hibiscus tea is also known as Karkade (pronounced "KAR-kah-day"), the Arabic word for the roselle plant (Hibiscus sabdariffa). Its petals can be dried to produce a tart, bright-red beverage which can be served either warmed (commonly known as Hibiscus Tea) or chilled (commonly referred to as Einab). It has a tart, cranberry-like flavour.

Preparation

- 1 part temper (for colour)
- 2 parts humour (for flavor)
- 1 part curiousity
- a pinch of hedonism
- patience, to taste

Fill a pot with water and bring to a boil. Add temper and simmer for 5 minutes, until softened and water has changed colour. Remove from heat and stir in humour, curiousity, and hedonism. Let sit for 3 minutes. Strain into serving pitcher/pot and sweeten with patience.

May take a few tries to get used to it.
