In canon, Mao has a power called a 'geass,' an ability he's had since he was six years old. His allows him to hear and read the thoughts of anyone within a 500-yard radius (this is reduced in Vatheon to 200 yards) and can use it to his advantage via manipulation, information gathering, etc etc. However unlike Lelouch's geass, Mao can not turn this ability off. What I want to know is;
Can Mao read your character's mind? If not, he'll only be able to hear white noise.: Just as it says on the tin (i.e. as he did with Shirley or Suzaku). If not, congratulations; you're his new friend.Maybe. Also if you do not want him to be able to go full-out, he can just skim their surface thoughts at that current moment.
If yes to the previous, can he manipulate your character with their own thoughts? He's a bit of a douchebag-troll with this.
Is there anything you don't want him revealing/mentioning?: Just like before, if there's anything you don't want mentioned to your character, just say so!

Can Mao read your character's mind?: Doubtful, at best you'll be treated to white noise since the man is good at hiding his thoughts from even others able to 'read' people. Likely the only time he can be read is if he wants to be.

On the off-chance Qui-Gon does let him read him, then likely he'll pick up that the man is connected to everything and anything which lives via some sort of force or power. (Which would be the Living Force) Also he'll read whatever is laid open for him to read, most likely it would be done if Qui-Gon wanted to convince Mao he was honest or serious about something.
Anything else?: Qui-Gon has his own impressive mental abilities due to the Force, jedi mind tricks among them. A list of things he can do is in his application on his journal.

If he wants to be a troll or really hit at a soft spot, he can pick up on a lot of memories involving a green haired man named Matsu, most of them very pleasant and with warm feelings, but the last of which is basically Akira sobbing over his prone form (after which they go kick ass in a mech, but the crying is most prominent).
