Some things: I'm a genderqueer nerd in my fourth decade who works with books. I drink too much coffee and read more than I remember to eat, but I always feed my dog, so I guess that's something. Tone is kind of impossible for me to interpret, in person or on the internets, and I have an unfortunate tendency to take everything literally. That's...actually important to understand about me. Social-Fu: I do not have it. Moving on! I regard music and oxygen as equally necessary, and frequently troll the internets looking for new sounds. Ok, so actually, I frequently troll the internets in general but new music is always bonus.

I'm making more entries public these days, but drop me a comment or just subscribe if you would like me to grant you access to see the rest. Maybe tell me if you found me through a particular fandom or some such thing? I always like to know how people end up here. I have a tumblr as well, and I use it quite a bit more than DW, so feel free to follow me over there if you'd like.

Fandoms you might see here: Primeval, Bomb Girls, Marvel/Avengers, Southland, Doctor Who, Sherlock Holmes (any incarnation) Pacific/Band of Brothers, horror movie feelings in general and also historical rants and musings (yes history is totally a fandom, shush).

My playlists are finally getting a sticky post! \O/ It's going to take me a while to reupload them all, but I'm working on it.

So, I watched The Mummy last night, as you do, and I remembered that at some point, probably long long ago, I stumbled across some fanfiction that was actually worth reading. General character backstory stuff, mainly, for the Carnahans, Rick, Ardeth, and possibly even the silly Americans, though that could just be my wishful thinking at work.

I admit, as much as I adore Rick and Evie, I also have a soft spot for angsty Rick/Jonathan because let's be honest here, Jonathan saw him first. I've always wondered exactly just what sort of 'good time' Rick had that got him jailed and nearly executed. I can think of a lot of things that could involve in 1923 Cairo, but - well.  /cough.  Also, I would ship Ardeth with anyone because, damn, Oded Fehr. Damn.

My quest to find decent fic this time around failed spectacularly, but I DID find a lot of hilarious fic summaries down in the Pit of Voles. (I know, what was I thinking?) I haven't read any of these, nor do I plan on it.

Check behind the cut, if you dare. )

...ok, I can't actually take any more. Wow. I was going to make some scathing commentary, but these summaries mock themselves pretty damn effectively.

I'm not making any progress on any of the fics I've got open at the moment, so I'm going to give the AU plotbunny/fic meme a try. Any fandom you know I'm passingly familiar with is fair game. Originally posted by [personal profile] eudaimon, and shamelessly stolen from [personal profile] renne:

Give me an AU prompt in the comments and I will plot out for you the fic it evokes in my mind.

LET'S DO THIS.

Long time no see!

I kind of miss this place, and fics post way better here than Tumblr, so...yeah. Partially back, maybe, on a limited basis. We'll see. A lot depends on if I can find a layout I like.

So, roll call, who's still out there? Of you still out there, who still remembers me? *crickets*

Also, omg, all of my icons are Supernatural, what even. Fix, fix, fix.

If Steve's going to insist on driving Danny's car, the least he can do is take directions. PG-13ish, 817 words.

This was supposed to be a drabble. Oops. )
