Hi there - yes, for identically named displays the numbering is entirely random. There is no way around that in macOS sadly. Does the system otherwise mix up displays (their location in the layout is changing)? |

The displays are not identically named and their location is holding solid
between commuter restarts.
So since they are not identically named, and are indeed completely
different displays from three different manufacturers, is there a way to
lock in across various apps, besides which display is the main display, the
identification of #’s 2 and 3?
I named them in the Better Display app to maintain a specific order in the
drop down menu.
And here is the layout in the Mac display setup

I have one of my 3 displays in the mac display setup, designated as the main display. Is there a way to tell the mac OS that of the two remaining displays, a specific one is display 2 and the other is display 3? I ask because I have one app that allows me to select which of my displays it goes "full-screen" on. And after I reboot my mac, the remaining two displays don't hold their assignment as to which is display 2 and which is dispaly 3. SO, I will go full screen, and it will be on the wrong screen, so then I go in the preferecnes of that app and assign it to the "other" display. Also, I have macros in Keyboard Maestro where I tell it "look for a specific image on "Screen 2"...but screen 2 changes sometimes. I think it is due to the order in which the mac os shakes-hands with the displays on startup. So I'm wondering, is there a way, perhaps in Better Display to tell the mac os THIS DISPLAY is display "2", THIS DISPLAY is dispaly"3"?
Thanks!
